RSS Centenary Year Plans To Unite Millions In Gujarat
Newz Daddy Political Updates
On the occasion of Vijayadashami, 672 programs will be held where 1,65,000 volunteers will take part.
Vijayadashami, also called Dussehra, is one of India’s most important festivals. It marks the victory of good over evil. For RSS, this day is very special, as many of their annual events and public programs are connected with Vijayadashami. Large participation of volunteers shows how deep the organisation has reached into society, especially in Gujarat.
Under the Home Contact Campaign, 2,10,000 workers will reach 90 lakh homes. In 23 days, 18,000 villages will be contacted. Such home contact programs are not new for RSS. In earlier years, similar outreach helped them to connect with common citizens and spread awareness about cultural and social values. Reaching 90 lakh homes shows one of the biggest social mobilisation efforts in Gujarat. Contacting 18,000 villages in less than a month means every part of rural Gujarat will get covered.
With society’s support, 4,670 Hindu meetings will be held with about 13,70,000 people taking part.
Hindu Sammelans (meetings) are large public gatherings often organised by RSS to bring together people from different communities. These gatherings usually include talks on unity, culture, and national service. A participation of more than 13 lakh people shows the scale of the event.
With social leaders, 571 harmony meetings will be held with nearly 16,600 people. Harmony meetings focus on building peace among different sections of society. They are usually aimed at reducing social divides and promoting unity across caste, community, and religion. Such events also help create dialogue with community leaders. With respected intellectuals, 92 public gatherings will be held with about 2,000 people. Intellectual gatherings often include professors, writers, retired judges, doctors, and community elders. These events aim to discuss larger issues of society, nation, and values. They help shape public opinion and give direction to future programs.
To encourage youth for national work, 580 youth meetings will be held with about 87,000 young participants.
Youth conferences have been an important part of RSS outreach. They focus on sports, discipline, leadership, and awareness about national duties. Engaging more than 80,000 young people in Gujarat reflects efforts to connect the next generation with the organization. In the centenary year, RSS plans to set up branches at the maximum possible places.
RSS branches, called “Shakhas,” are daily or weekly gatherings where volunteers meet for physical training, games, discussions, and prayers. The centenary year gives an opportunity to increase the number of branches and bring in new members. At present, Gujarat has 2,421 daily branches. Out of these, 1,247 are student branches and 1,174 are business branches. There are also 1,612 weekly meetings and 844 monthly meetings. Student branches show RSS’s focus on shaping the young mind, while business branches show influence among traders and professionals. Weekly and monthly meetings allow those who cannot attend daily branches to remain connected.
Dr Jayantibhai Bhadesia also said that for the overall progress of the nation and for social change, programs will be organised on five topics during the centenary year. These are family awareness, environment, social harmony, use of Swadeshi (local goods), and citizen duties. These five areas reflect the RSS vision of “Panch Parivartan.” Family awareness highlights values at home. The environment connects to green living and climate responsibility. Social harmony promotes unity. Swadeshi connects to Make in India and the use of local products. Citizen duties focus on respect for the law, voting, and active participation in society.
The press conference was also attended by Dr Bharatbhai Patel (Regional Head, RSS Gujarat Province), Shri Mukeshbhai Malkan (Regional Head, RSS Saurashtra Province), Shri Tejasbhai Patel (Publicity Head, RSS Gujarat Province), Shri Prakashbhai Patel (Contact Head, RSS Gujarat Province), along with many media representatives.
The presence of senior regional leaders at the press conference shows the importance of Gujarat in the national centenary year plan. Media participation ensures that the plans reach the public across newspapers, TV, and digital platforms.
