Ahmedabad will host the second edition of Gujarat Medical Expo from September 25 to 27, with medical equipment makers, healthcare companies, doctors, hospital managers, distributors and other industry professionals expected to attend the three-day event at Vigyan Bhavan, Gujarat Science City.
Organised by Star Exhibitions, the expo follows its first edition held at the same venue in September 2025. The 2026 edition is planned as a larger trade event, with the organisers expecting between 8,000 and 10,000 visitors. The event is scheduled to remain open from 10 am to 6 pm each day.
The exhibition comes at a time when India’s medical-device industry is expanding, and manufacturers are seeking a larger domestic market. A recent Government of India release, based on a FICCI–DUA Consulting white paper, said the country’s medical-device sector was valued at about $14 billion and could reach $30 billion to $50 billion within this decade. The same report placed the industry’s possible market size at $250 billion by 2047. It pointed to rising healthcare demand, wider use of medical technology and government support for domestic manufacturing as some of the factors behind the expected growth.
For hospitals and other healthcare providers, medical exhibitions can provide a practical way to compare equipment and speak directly with suppliers. The Ahmedabad event will cover several parts of the hospital supply chain, including medical devices, surgical equipment, diagnostic instruments, laboratory equipment, hospital furniture, intensive care and operating theatre systems, imaging equipment, patient-care products, medical disposables and rehabilitation products.
Healthcare technology is also part of the exhibition. The organiser’s exhibitor information includes hospital management software, medical laboratory services, medical waste management, hospital electronics, medical gases and other support services.
