JCB Machines: Bharwad Yuva Sangathan Distributes 221 in Gujarat
Bharwad Yuva Sangathan Distributes 221 JCB Machines to Support Youth Employment in Gujarat
The Gandhinagar programme seeks to help young people start income-generating work, while the organisation reports a volunteer network of 2,48,789 members across the state.
Bharwad Yuva Sangathan, Gujarat, has announced the distribution of 221 JCB machines to young beneficiaries in a community-led effort to support self-employment and improve access to work. The programme was inaugurated by Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi in the presence of community representatives, former legislators and other dignitaries.
The initiative focuses on giving young people access to machinery that can be used for paid work in construction, road building, excavation and other earthmoving activities. For beneficiaries who can secure work contracts and manage operating costs, such equipment may provide a route towards earning an independent income.
The organisation has not provided a breakdown of the beneficiaries, the total cost of the machines, the funding arrangements or the terms under which they were distributed. Details about operator training, maintenance support and access to work contracts were also not included in the information released about the programme.
These details will help establish how the scheme will work in practice and how many beneficiaries can maintain a steady income from their machines.
JCB machines are widely used in India’s construction and infrastructure sectors. The company’s range includes backhoe loaders, excavators and other equipment used for digging, loading materials, preparing sites and carrying out roadwork.
JCB India Limited began operations in 1979 and has since built a manufacturing and service network in the country. Its backhoe loaders are among the machines used for a range of construction and earthmoving tasks. The company also runs operator training centres, where people can learn to operate and maintain machinery safely.
For a machine owner, earning money depends on more than receiving the equipment. Regular work, fuel, repairs, spare parts, insurance, transport and operator wages can affect the income left after expenses. A beneficiary who secures regular contracts may have better prospects than someone who depends on occasional work.
The distribution of 221 machines through one community-led programme places the focus on whether access to equipment can help young people enter a business that usually requires substantial investment. The available announcement does not establish whether this is the largest such community purchase in India or worldwide. A comparison with similar programmes would require independent records of the number of machines, ownership arrangements and funding involved.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi referred to changes in the Bharwad community and the role of education and technology in its future.
“From the traditional staff to modern laptops, the inspiring journey of the Bharwad community stands as a testament to its progressive spirit and enduring resolve. The distribution of 221 JCBs will unlock vital avenues for self-employment and economic self-reliance, while access to quality education and technology will empower our coming generations. I commend the Bharwad Yuva Sangathan for spearheading such impactful initiatives toward the community’s holistic advancement.”
His remarks linked the machinery distribution with wider efforts to improve access to education and employment. The programme also brought together community representatives involved in social work and public life in Gujarat.
Shri Dilipbhai Bhavanbhai Bharwad, president of Bharwad Yuva Sangathan, thanked the Deputy Chief Minister for attending the event and spoke about the organisation’s efforts to support young people facing economic difficulties.
“At Bharwad Yuva Sangathan, we believe that true community development begins with creating opportunities for people to become self-reliant. The distribution of 221 JCB machines is an important milestone in our efforts to support economically weaker and unemployed youth by helping them pursue livelihood opportunities with dignity and confidence. Our objective is to ensure that young people are equipped to build a better future for themselves and their families. We remain committed to expanding such initiatives and contributing to the overall development of our community.”
The statement sets out the organisation’s intention to help unemployed and economically weaker young people find work. The long-term results will depend on how beneficiaries use the machines and whether they can find enough paid work to cover their costs.
Shri Amitbhai Bharwad, general secretary of Bharwad Yuva Sangathan, spoke about the organisation’s activities since its establishment in 2017.
According to Amitbhai Bharwad, the organisation has a network of 2,48,789 youth volunteers, with committees working in districts, talukas and cities across Gujarat.
Its activities include free coaching classes for competitive examinations, information programmes about government schemes, campaigns against social evils and volunteer assistance during natural disasters. These efforts cover areas beyond employment and are intended to help young people access education and public services.
Free coaching can help candidates prepare for examinations, although its results depend on the quality of teaching, access to study materials and the number of candidates who secure places. Similarly, information about government schemes can help eligible people understand application procedures and the support available to them.
The organisation’s stated activities show that it works through local committees and volunteers. The figure of 2,48,789 volunteers was provided by the organisation and was not independently verified for this report.
Several current and former public representatives and social leaders attended the event.
Those named included Shri Bhavanbhai Jivanbhai Bharwad and Shri Lakhabhai Bharwad, both former MLAs; Shri Rajabhai Vamabhai Bharwad, a social leader; and Shri Bharatbhai Sajanbhai Budheliya, Leader of the Opposition in Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation.
Other attendees included Shri Ranchhodbhai Gokalbhai Bhadiyadra, Shri Lakshmanbhai Vihabhai Mer, Shri Bhavanbhai Rukhadbhai Bharwad, Shri Bharatbhai Haribhai Mer, Shri Vinubhai Becharbhai Gamara, Shri Bababhai Sabhad, Shri Merubhai Haribhai Bharwad and Shri Manubhai Magunda.
Representatives of Amin JCB, Shri Damanbhai Thakor and Smt. Vidisaben Asarpota, were also present, along with other community representatives and social leaders.
Shri Mehulbhai Bharwad delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the dignitaries, beneficiaries and people who helped organise the programme. He also conveyed the organisation’s gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister.
The distribution of 221 JCB machines gives the participating young people an opportunity to pursue work in a sector that depends on construction equipment. The next measure of the programme’s success will be the number of beneficiaries who secure regular contracts, meet their running costs and earn enough to support themselves and their families.
