Adani Enterprises is selling 50% of its subsidiary, Kutch Copper Tubes Ltd. AEL would also purchase a 50% share in MetTube Copper India Pvt. Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary of MetTube, at the same time.
The alliance intends to drastically lessen India’s reliance on imported copper tubes. Adani’s infrastructural capabilities and MetTube’s worldwide copper experience will work together to boost domestic production and innovation.
Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) and MetTube Mauritius Private Limited (MetTube) have signed a Share Purchase and Shareholders Agreement that will increase India’s independence. With its cutting-edge facilities, they hope to provide the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry with next-generation solutions. The goal of this partnership is to strengthen India’s indigenous copper-based application ecosystem and lessen the country’s reliance on imported copper tubes.
As per the deal, Adani Enterprises would provide MetTube a 50% share in Kutch Copper Tubes Limited, its fully owned subsidiary. Furthermore, MetTube Copper India Private Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of MetTube that runs a factory in Gujarat close to Ahmedabad, will get a 50% investment from Adani Enterprises.
As a member of the diverse Metdist Group, MetTube contributes decades of worldwide expertise in producing high-performance copper tubes. Advanced copper production facilities, including the greenfield copper tube plant under Kutch Copper Tubes Limited (KCTL), have already been developed at Mundra, Gujarat, by Adani Enterprises through its fully owned subsidiaries.
In keeping with India’s goal of increasing energy efficiency and lowering carbon emissions, the dual investment structure guarantees equal ownership and shared control, allowing both organisations to jointly develop a copper tube company that is fit for the future.
“This collaboration with MetTube is a calculated step towards India’s manufacturing of copper tubes being self-sufficient. Jeet Adani, Whole Time Director, Adani Group, stated, “We are not just building capacity—we are building capability by fusing MetTube’s global expertise with Adani’s infrastructure and operational excellence.”
The demand for copper tubes in India is rising quickly, and this partnership reaffirms our dedication to the ‘Make in India’ philosophy by enabling globally competitive production. Our goal in working with Adani is to provide premium, domestically produced Inner Grooved copper tubes that satisfy global requirements. Our mutual desire for innovation and sustainable growth is reflected in this collaboration. stated Metdist Group Chairman Apurv Bagri.
The partnership makes use of MetTube’s worldwide production and marketing experience as well as Adani’s forward-integrated copper ecosystem, which is centred on its 0.5 MTPA copper refinery project in Mundra. In addition to assisting India’s green infrastructure objectives by supplying high-performance copper tubes for HVAC, renewable energy, and smart building applications, this collaboration will allow scale and speed in copper tube production. The production of copper tubes will serve vital industries, including plumbing, refrigeration, and air conditioning, where demand is rising as a result of urbanisation and the need for climate-responsive infrastructure.
