Ahmedabad Cue Sports Meet Ends with India Leading on 13 Medals

India Tops Commonwealth Cue Sports Championships with 13 Medals in Ahmedabad

Aditya Mehta, Anupama Ramachandran and Rayaan Razmi win gold as India records its best finish at the first Indian edition of the multi-discipline championships

India finished first in the medal standings at the Commonwealth Cue Sports Championships 2026, winning 13 medals, including three gold, five silver and five bronze, as the four-day competition ended at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Aditya Snehal Mehta, Anupama Ramachandran and Rayaan Razmi won India’s three gold medals, with all three titles decided in finals between Indian players. The results gave the home team a winning finish at the first edition of the multi-discipline championships to be held in India.

Organised by Apex Sports Promotion and hosted by the Billiards & Snooker Federation of India (BSFI), the tournament ran from 7 to 10 October under the endorsement of the World Confederation of Billiards Sports (WCBS) and Commonwealth Sport. Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Dr P.T. Usha attended the medal ceremony as chief guest.

The event brought together 144 players representing 42 Commonwealth nations, with competition spread across English Billiards, Snooker, Heyball, 10-Ball Pool and Blackball. It also formed a central part of the BSFI’s centenary celebrations.

Mehta won the men’s snooker title after defeating Dhvaj Haria 3-0 in the final. Haria took silver, while India’s Laxman Singh Rawat and Sri Lanka’s Mohamed Thaha Irshath shared the bronze medals.

Ramachandran secured gold in women’s English Billiards with a 1-0 victory over compatriot Revanna Umadevi. Umadevi received silver, while Great Britain’s Mhairi Roberta Mackay and Australia’s Julie Watson won bronze.

Razmi completed India’s gold-medal sweep in the three events with victory over Siddharth Sailesh Parikh in the men’s English Billiards final. The result gave India titles in both English Billiards categories, along with the men’s snooker crown.

The women’s snooker final brought another Indian medal, although the title went to Great Britain. Rebecca Kenna defeated Keerthana Pandian 3-0 to win gold, leaving Pandian with silver. India’s Ishika Shah and Shruthi Lakshminarayanan shared the bronze medals.

India also reached the men’s Heyball final through Paras Gupta, who lost 5-6 to South Africa’s Jason Theron in a closely fought contest. Gupta took silver, while India’s Uzair Khan and Malaysia’s Mohd Hassan shared bronze.

In men’s 10-Ball Pool, Great Britain’s Mark Foster beat compatriot Sheridan Burmester 6-3 for the title. India’s Divya Sharma won bronze alongside Great Britain’s Paddy McLoughlin.

The women’s 10-Ball Pool final went to Australia’s Meng-Hsia Hung, who edged South Africa’s Elzette Joen 5-4. Singapore’s Neo Yue Xuan and Canada’s Nathalle Chabot took bronze.

Great Britain collected further titles in women’s snooker and men’s Blackball. Kenna defeated Pandian in snooker, while Lee Shepherd beat South Africa’s Shaun Martheze 7-3 in the men’s Blackball final. Rwanda’s Frederic Ngaboyisonga and Namibia’s Curtis Izaaks received the bronze medals in that event.

Uganda’s Naiga Rukia won women’s Blackball, beating South Africa’s Prudence Nkosi 5-3 in the final. Australia’s Kolbe Poole and Great Britain’s Emma Cunningham shared bronze.

Great Britain added the women’s Heyball title through Kelly Fisher, who defeated Uganda’s Rashidah Mutesi in the final. South Africa’s Marina Jacobs and Great Britain’s Mary Talbot claimed bronze.
