Asia Cup 2025 Final Scenarios Explained For All Four Contenders

Asia Cup 2025 Scenarios: Implications of Pakistan’s Victory Over Sri Lanka for the Final. Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets in their Super 4 match on Tuesday, preserving their hopes of making it to the Asia Cup 2025 final.

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets in their Super 4 match on Tuesday, preserving their hopes of making it to the Asia Cup 2025 final. With Shaheen Afridi getting three wickets and Hussain Talat and Haris Rauf contributing two each, Pakistan held Sri Lanka to 133/8. With 50, Kamindu Mendis led Sri Lanka in scoring. In response, Pakistan chased down the mark in 18 overs as Mohammad Nawaz and Talat forged a fantastic connection following a rough start.

Pakistan can potentially go to the Asia Cup final despite having only two points from their first two Super 4 games.

Pakistan would have a great chance of making it to the final if they defeat Bangladesh in their last Super 4 encounter. Bangladesh will have two points from two games if they lose against India. Their game against Pakistan will then effectively qualify them for the summit showdown.

Bangladesh will have four points from two games if they defeat India. If India loses against Sri Lanka and Pakistan wins against Bangladesh, Pakistan will go to the final.

However, all three teams will have four points with Sri Lanka at zero if Pakistan defeats Bangladesh and India defeats Sri Lanka in their last game after losing to Bangladesh. In that scenario, Net Run Rate (NRR) will determine the two finalists.

Bangladesh will be assured of a place in the final if India loses both of their remaining matches against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and Pakistan loses their match against Bangladesh. Each of India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan will receive two points; NRR will choose the other finalist.

On Wednesday, India will play Bangladesh, and on Thursday, Pakistan will play Bangladesh. On Friday, India and Sri Lanka will play their final Super 4 encounter.

The final match of the Asia Cup 2025 will be played on Sunday, the 28th of September.
