Bharatsinh Parmar joins Congress in shocking power move

Bharatsinh Parmar Joins Congress, Powerful Return Shocks BJP Leaders

In the presence of Gujarat Congress President Amit Chavda, former BJP Assembly candidate and strong OBC community leader from Kheda district, Shri Bharatsinh Parmar, along with his supporters, left the BJP and joined the Congress party. Such political shifts are important in Gujarat because the state has been a strong base of the BJP for many years. However, Congress has been trying to rebuild its support by bringing back old leaders and workers who were once part of the party. Leaders from OBC communities also play a key role in Gujarat politics because OBC voters form a large part of the population and often influence election results.

Leaders who worked for people for many years while in the BJP are now joining Congress because they believe in its ideology, said Shri Amit Chavda. This comes at a time when many political parties across India are trying to strengthen their base before future elections. In Indian politics, ideology and public image are very important. Congress, which led India during the freedom struggle and ruled the country for many years after independence, still presents itself as a party that stands for democracy, equality and social justice.

People who enter public life to raise the voice of the poor, middle class, farmers, cattle rearers and common people often face limits while working in the BJP, and the doors of Congress are open for all such people, said Shri Amit Chavda. Farmers and cattle rearers are especially important in Gujarat because the state has a strong agriculture and dairy economy. Gujarat is home to Amul, one of the largest dairy co-operatives in the world, which has helped millions of farmers earn a stable income. Because of this, leaders who work closely with farmers often gain strong public support.

Under BJP rule, the voice of democracy is being suppressed, and common citizens are finding it difficult to get justice, said Shri Bharatsinh Parmar. Political leaders often raise such concerns as part of their public statements, and debates about democracy, justice and freedom are common in India. India is the world’s largest democracy, with millions of people voting in elections at local, state and national levels. These elections are seen as a key way for people to express their voice.

Today at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in Ahmedabad, in the presence of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Chavda, former BJP Assembly candidate and strong OBC and Kshatriya community leader from Kheda district, Shri Bharatsinh Parmar, formally left the BJP and joined the Congress party. Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan serves as the main office of the Congress party in Gujarat and has been the centre of many important political meetings. Many workers and leaders from Central Gujarat were present, showing that such events are also used to show unity and strength.

Amit Chavda said that for some time now, workers and leaders from the BJP have been continuously joining Congress. Leaders who spent many years in public life working for people are once again showing trust in the ideology of Congress. He mentioned the long and experienced public life of Shri Bharatsinh Parmar and said that he has been active from being a worker to holding important positions in the organisation. Whether in the co-operative sector, local self-government bodies, or the taluka panchayat, he has done important work. Local self-government bodies and panchayats play a very important role in India because they help manage villages and small towns. They work on roads, water, health and other basic needs of people.

He also served as Taluka Panchayat President and District Congress Committee President. In 2017, he contested the Mahudha Assembly election from the BJP and remained active in the BJP for some time, but today he has rejoined Congress due to his original ideological beliefs. Elections in Gujarat are highly competitive, and even losing candidates often remain active in public life because they continue to work with people.

Amit Chavda said that many leaders feel suffocated and their thoughts do not get proper respect. During the ‘Jan Aakrosh Yatra’, many people across the state left the BJP and joined Congress, which shows the growing dissatisfaction among people. Political yatras, or public marches, are often used by parties in India to connect with people and understand their problems. These events also help leaders show their presence among the public.

He also spoke about incidents where bulldozers were used on the homes of poor people and about increasing corruption in the co-operative sector. The co-operative sector in Gujarat is very large and includes banks, dairies and farming groups. These organisations are meant to help members work together and earn better income.

Bharatsinh Parmar said he has once again joined the Congress family with the same values and ideology. His commitment to work for the poor, farmers and common people remains strong. Many leaders in India speak about helping poor and rural communities because a large part of the population still lives in villages.

Amit Chavda said they will now work together with unity for the interest of the state and to strengthen Congress in Central Gujarat. He welcomed Bharatsinh Parmar and all the leaders and workers who joined with him. Such unity efforts are common when parties prepare for future elections.

After joining Congress with more than fifty workers, Bharatsinh Parmar said he has always respected the Indian Constitution and that Congress’s ideology has protected democratic values. The Indian Constitution, which came into force in 1950, gives equal rights to all citizens and forms the base of the country’s democracy.

He said that under the BJP rule, the voice of democracy is being suppressed. He said he fully believes Congress is the right platform to protect the democratic values for which Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel fought. Both Gandhi and Patel were from Gujarat and played key roles in India’s freedom struggle, which gives strong emotional value to their names in Gujarat politics.

He also mentioned the recent Amul election and said power was misused and corruption was committed. Amul is not just a dairy brand but also a symbol of the co-operative movement in India, which helped farmers become financially stronger.

In the end, he said he was in the BJP for some time, but to work for democracy and for the welfare of the last person in society, he has rejoined Congress. He also promised that in the coming days, hundreds of workers at the district level will join Congress.

Many senior leaders were present at the programme. All leaders welcomed the new members and promised to work together to save democracy and take the Congress ideology to every home. Such political events show how parties continue to work to gain public trust and support in Gujarat’s active political environment.
