On Tuesday, actor Alia Bhatt announced that her first film as a producer, Darlings, will be released on Netflix. In conjunction with superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the 29-year-old performer stars in and produces the film under her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions.

Jasmeet K Reen makes his directorial debut with Darlings, a dark comedy. The film is set in Mumbai and is set in a conservative lower-middle-class area. It follows a mother-daughter combo as they struggle to find their place in the city, seeking courage and love in unusual situations while fighting against all odds. The film’s official release date has yet to be announced by Bhatt and Netflix.
