Ahmedabad, September 27, 2023: Sri Lanka, a captivating destination, is making a big effort to welcome more tourists from India. They’re doing this by hosting a series of events called Sri Lanka Tourism Roadshows in major cities like Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Pune.
The Ahmedabad Roadshow took place today at Taj Skyline, Ahmedabad, following the successful Kolkata Roadshow on September 25, 2023. The Pune Roadshow is scheduled for September 29, 2023. The Ahmedabad Press Conference featured Mr. Nalin Perera, a board member of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Director General of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, along with Mr. Thisum Jayasuriya, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau.

During the event, Sri Lanka Tourism showcased its best attractions. This event brought together 36 Sri Lankan Travel and Tourism companies and around 200 Indian Tour Operators, including travel agents, hotels, and corporate representatives. They discussed exciting travel opportunities for Indian tourists.

In recent years, Sri Lanka has gained popularity as the “best adventure destination in Asia” and the “best up-and-coming travel destination” according to Lonely Planet. Sri Lanka has welcomed 170,247 Indian tourists up to August 2023, with the highest number of Indian tourists visiting in 2018, at 424,887.

The Roadshow even organized a raffle draw, offering tours to Sri Lanka and hotel stays as gifts to the attendees.
