GSFC University Placements 2026 Reach 100% Across Three Courses

GSFC University records full placements in three programmes as industry demand for skilled graduates grows

GSFC University has reported 100 per cent campus placements for the 2026 graduating batch in three academic programmes: B.Tech Chemical Engineering, B.Tech Fire and Environment, Health, Safety (Fire & EHS), and M.Sc. Chemistry. The result comes as industries continue to seek graduates with technical skills and practical workplace experience.

A total of 67 students from the three programmes took part in this year’s placement process. Together, they received more than 60 job offers from over 12 companies working in sectors such as chemicals, energy, engineering, pharmaceuticals and industrial services.

According to the GSFC University, the highest annual salary offered to a B.Tech Chemical Engineering graduate was ₹6 lakh, while the average package stood at ₹4 lakh. Students from the B.Tech Fire & EHS programme received the highest offer of ₹7.1 lakh per annum, with an average package of ₹6 lakh. In M.Sc. Chemistry, the highest salary package reached ₹3.5 lakh per annum, and the average package was ₹3 lakh.

The recruiters included Reliance Industries Ltd., Nirma Ltd., L&T Technology Services Ltd., UPL Ltd., Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd., GSPL India Gasnet Ltd. and IMC Ltd., along with several other Indian and multinational companies.

The placement figures reflect demand for graduates trained in chemical engineering, industrial safety and applied chemistry. These fields continue to support major industries across Gujarat, including fertilisers, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, where companies regularly recruit engineers, chemists and safety professionals.

Chemical engineering remains one of Gujarat’s strongest technical sectors because the state is home to large chemical, fertiliser and petrochemical manufacturing clusters. Safety and environmental management have also become increasingly important as industries face stricter workplace safety rules, environmental standards and compliance requirements. Companies now place greater emphasis on trained professionals who can manage industrial risks, protect workers and help meet regulatory obligations.

The GSFC University traces its roots to a corporate social responsibility initiative of Gujarat State Fertilisers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC). It was established in 2015 under the Gujarat Private Universities Act through the GSFC Education Society to prepare graduates for industry by combining classroom learning with practical training. The institution is recognised under Section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

When academic activities began during the 2015-16 session, the university offered two engineering programmes and enrolled 141 students. Since then, it has expanded into a multidisciplinary institution offering more than 23 programmes with a student population of over 3,300. The growth reflects wider changes in higher education, where private universities have expanded courses beyond traditional engineering into science, management, biotechnology and liberal arts while increasing links with industry.

One feature of GSFC University’s academic model is its Student Internship Programme, which makes industrial training a compulsory part of every semester. The university says internships account for around 15 to 20 per cent of the total programme duration, allowing students to gain workplace experience alongside classroom studies. The institution also operates specialised facilities such as FirePlex, a training centre focused on fire safety, industrial risk management and emergency response.

Across India, employers have increasingly stressed the importance of practical skills alongside academic qualifications. Industry bodies and education experts have repeatedly pointed to the need for stronger collaboration between universities and employers, so graduates are better prepared for the workplace. Internship programmes, project-based learning and direct industry engagement have become common strategies adopted by technical institutions to improve graduate employability.

Gujarat’s industrial base provides opportunities for such partnerships. The state has long been a centre for chemicals, pharmaceuticals, engineering, oil and gas, ceramics and manufacturing, creating demand for graduates with specialised technical knowledge. Companies operating in these sectors often seek candidates who are already familiar with industrial processes, quality systems and workplace safety practices.

The university’s placement office says it works with employers through campus recruitment drives, skill development activities, career guidance and interview preparation. According to information published by the institution, these activities are intended to connect students with organisations across different industries while preparing them for recruitment processes.

The latest placement outcome follows the university’s continuing academic expansion in recent years. In December 2025, GSFC University awarded 632 degrees during its seventh convocation, with graduates representing technology, science, management studies and liberal arts. The event reflected the institution’s growing size compared with its first academic session a decade earlier.

The latest placement figures cover only the graduating students from the three programmes mentioned by the university and do not represent placement results across every course offered by the institution. Even so, the outcome indicates sustained recruitment interest from companies operating in sectors where technical expertise, laboratory skills and industrial safety remain essential.

As industries continue to modernise production facilities and strengthen environmental and workplace safety standards, demand for graduates trained in engineering, chemistry and industrial safety is expected to remain an important part of Gujarat’s employment landscape. For students entering these fields, practical training combined with technical education is becoming an increasingly important factor in securing employment after graduation.
