IITRAM Convocation 2025 Celebrates Outstanding Engineering Talent

IITRAM holds its 7th Convocation Ceremony on August 22, 2025 (Friday) at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Auditorium Hall, Vastral, Ahmedabad. Convocation ceremonies are a symbolic milestone for any institute, marking the successful completion of years of rigorous academic training and the beginning of graduates’ professional journeys. These ceremonies also serve as a platform to acknowledge students’ hard work, celebrate academic achievements, and inspire them for future endeavours.
A total of 104 graduates were conferred degrees in this convocation. Of this, 88 B.Tech, 2 M.Tech, and 14 doctoral graduates received degrees. IITRAM has consistently focused on producing skilled engineers capable of contributing to India’s technological growth. The inclusion of M.Tech and doctoral graduates reflects the institute’s emphasis on advanced research, innovation, and fostering academic excellence beyond undergraduate studies.
21 students, 4 in Civil, 7 in Electrical Engineering, and 10 in Mechanical Engineering, were awarded B.Tech degrees with Honour. Awarding degrees with Honours indicates the exceptional academic performance of these students. Recognising high achievers not only encourages healthy competition but also sets benchmarks for future batches. Similarly, 14 students—4 in Civil, 5 in Electrical Engineering, and 5 in Mechanical Engineering—were awarded B.Tech degrees with Minors. Minors allow students to gain expertise in a secondary discipline, equipping them with a diverse skill set that enhances employability and interdisciplinary learning.
Class of 2025 graduates from PAN-India attended this event. IITRAM’s student body represents a diverse demographic, reflecting the institute’s pan-India appeal. Exposure to peers from different regions fosters cultural exchange and prepares students to work in multi-cultural professional environments.
3 Gold and 3 Silver medals were awarded to meritorious students at the undergraduate level across all branches of engineering. Such recognition motivates students to strive for excellence and acknowledges their consistent dedication and performance throughout their academic journey. The Chairman’s medal was awarded to Mr. Akarsh Patel, who received the highest CPI among all specialisations. Awarding the Chairman’s medal is a prestigious honour, symbolising not only academic brilliance but also leadership qualities and holistic development.
The formal conferral of degrees symbolises the graduates’ transition to alumni. Alumni networks are crucial for career development, mentorship, and creating opportunities for future students. IITRAM’s alumni have consistently contributed to sectors like infrastructure, technology, research, and management, reinforcing the institute’s growing reputation.
IITRAM, known for its dedication to innovation and education, celebrates its graduates’ accomplishments. The Chief Guest of this convocation ceremony was Professor Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication Systems from IIT Kanpur and a B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur. Leaders like Prof. Choudhary inspire graduates by sharing insights from their academic and professional journeys, emphasising the importance of research, innovation, and societal contributions.
Currently on lien from IIT Jodhpur, where he is Professor in Electrical Engineering, he has also served as Dean (International, Alumni & Corporate Relations). His diverse academic experience and leadership roles highlight the importance of interdisciplinary learning and international collaboration in modern engineering education.
With 104 graduates receiving their degrees, the ceremony reflected the university’s dedication to shaping bright minds and empowering them to make a positive impact on society. IITRAM has always emphasised experiential learning, research projects, and community engagement, preparing students to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s infrastructure, technology, and management sectors.
