Chiripal Group Celebrates International Women’s Day with Music, Wellness Activities and Green Initiatives

Chiripal Group celebrated International Women’s Day with a vibrant post-work gathering for its women employees at the Shanti Asiatic School (SAS) Grounds in Shela on Saturday evening. Some 500 women employees remained present at the event organised with a view to celebrating and appreciating women through their wellness and camaraderie.

International Women’s Day is observed every year on March 8 worldwide. It is a day to honour the social, economic and cultural achievements of women. The tradition began more than a hundred years ago when people around the world started raising their voices for women’s rights and equal opportunities. Today, companies and institutions use this day to highlight the importance of women in the workplace and society. Many organisations also take this opportunity to talk about gender equality and encourage more women to take leadership roles.

Ahmedabad has also seen many organisations marking the day with special programmes. In recent years, several corporate houses in the city have organised events to appreciate women employees and to create a more inclusive work culture. Such gatherings not only celebrate achievements but also help women feel valued and respected at their workplace.

The celebration featured a lively mix of activities such as a DJ music celebration, an energetic Zumba session, interactive stalls, a 360° photo booth, and lucky draws. As part of a special green initiative, all participants were given a sapling, symbolising growth and sustainability. The evening concluded with a sumptuous dinner, creating a relaxed and festive atmosphere for the attendees.

Activities like Zumba and group dance sessions are becoming very popular at corporate wellness events. Zumba is a fitness programme that combines dance and aerobic movements with lively music. It was created in the 1990s and has since become a favourite form of exercise around the world.
