Lok Sabha Election 2024: 22 Leaders Quit LJP Amidst Allegations

Newz Daddy Political Updates

Trouble brews within Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) as 22 leaders tender their resignations following the denial of tickets to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Allegations of preferential treatment towards ‘outsiders’ and accusations of ticket selling have rocked the party, dealing a blow to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar.

Leaders Resign Amid Ticket Denial

In a significant development, 22 leaders of Chirag Paswan’s LJP have stepped down from their positions after being denied tickets to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This mass resignation underscores internal dissent within the party and raises questions about its leadership’s decision-making process.

Accusations have surfaced against Chirag Paswan, with leaders alleging that he prioritized ‘outsiders’ over dedicated party workers when allocating tickets. One leader went as far as accusing Paswan of ‘selling tickets for money,’ highlighting deep-seated grievances within the party ranks.

Support for Opposition I.N.D.I.A Bloc

In a significant turn of events, the leaders who resigned simultaneously announced their support for the opposition Mahagathbandhan, which is part of the larger I.N.D.I.A bloc. This move signals a potential shift in political alliances and adds a new dimension to Bihar’s electoral landscape.

Former MP Renu Kushwaha expressed dismay over the ticket allocation process, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the contributions of dedicated party workers. She criticized the decision to give tickets to ‘outsiders,’ questioning the party’s commitment to its grassroots supporters.

The departure of key figures such as Satish Kumar, former national general secretary, and ex-MLA, has sent shockwaves through the LJP. Kumar lamented the betrayal of party workers’ aspirations and pledged support to the INDI alliance to safeguard the country’s interests.

Allegations of Ticket Selling

Ravindra Singh, LJP’s former secretary of organization, made damning allegations against Chirag Paswan, accusing him of ‘selling the tickets.’ Singh claimed that Paswan deceived the party’s hardworking members and warned of repercussions from disillusioned voters.

The fallout within the LJP has implications for the NDA’s seat-sharing agreement in Bihar. Under the arrangement, LJP was slated to contest five out of Bihar’s 40 seats. However, the turmoil within the party casts doubts on its electoral prospects and raises concerns for the NDA’s electoral strategy.

As the dust settles on the upheaval within Chirag Paswan’s LJP, the repercussions of this internal discord reverberate through Bihar’s political landscape. The resignation of 22 leaders over denied tickets underscores deeper fissures within the party and poses challenges to the NDA’s electoral ambitions. With accusations of ticket selling and support shifting towards the opposition, the stage is set for a dynamic and unpredictable Lok Sabha election in Bihar.
