Navgujarat College Hosts Seminar to Boost Students’ Interview Skills

Navgujarat College of Computer Applications, part of the renowned Navgujarat Group of Colleges, recently hosted a seminar designed to empower students with the skills and confidence needed to ace personal interviews. Aimed at students in Semesters 3 and 5, the session focused on preparing them for professional success by honing their interview techniques and building their self-assurance.

The seminar was led by Mr. Nikhil Nainani, an expert from the Pune Institute of Business Management. His engaging and practical approach captivated the students as he shared insights about the dynamics of personal interviews, helping them develop a stronger foundation for their future careers.

The seminar covered essential strategies that every student should know before stepping into an interview room. Mr. Nainani emphasized the importance of presenting oneself confidently and honestly while making interviews more than just a question-and-answer session—he called it a “meaningful conversation.”

He advised students to avoid vague responses and focus on delivering specific, precise answers. Employers, he explained, are keen on candidates who showcase clarity of thought and a solid grasp of their subject. The session also stressed the importance of showcasing personality, problem-solving skills, and value addition to the role, which can set candidates apart in a competitive job market.

One of the standout moments of the seminar was the introduction of the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, and Results. This structured approach helps candidates effectively tackle behavioral questions, allowing them to present their experiences and achievements with clarity and confidence.

Mr. Nainani also highlighted the growing demand for skills like decision-making, teamwork, and communication, explaining that these qualities often weigh as heavily as technical expertise during interviews.

Drawing from his own experiences, Mr. Nainani shared real-world examples of interview scenarios, giving students a glimpse into what to expect. His tips included strategies for handling tough questions, managing nerves, and staying professional throughout the interview process.

To ensure the session was interactive and engaging, students were encouraged to ask questions during the concluding Q&A segment. This open dialogue not only helped clarify doubts but also inspired many to rethink their approach to interviews.

Navgujarat College of Computer Applications is dedicated to helping its students succeed in their professional journeys. The institution’s commitment to organizing such events reflects its vision of providing students with the tools they need to thrive in today’s competitive world.

For the students, this seminar was more than just a training session—it was an opportunity to build confidence, gain industry insights, and prepare for a bright future.

As the session ended, students left with a renewed sense of purpose and the knowledge that they are better equipped to face interviews head-on.
