PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist from India, was named to the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) Athletes’ Commission on Monday. The former world champion, who is 26 years old, was named alongside five other members who will serve until 2025.

“The BWF is happy to announce the six members of the BWF Athletes’ Commission 2021-2025: Iris Wang (USA), Robin Tabeling (NED), Greysia Polii (INA), Kim Soyeong (KOR), Pusarla V Sindhu (IND), and Zheng Si Wei (CHN),” according to a release from the BWF.

In 2021, #PVSindhu will be one of the few athletes to not win an Olympic or World Championship medal.

But, as we all know, she is a Champion, and the order will be restored in 2022.

The six members will vote for the Chair and Deputy Chair. “The six members of the new Commission will meet soon to elect the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Commission. Following the verification procedure required of all Council members, the Chair of the BWF Athletes’ Commission will become a member of Council until the next elections in 2025 “The BWF has been added.

Sindhu, who earned a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, made history by winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year. Sindhu earned two silver medals, two bronze medals, and the coveted gold medal at the prestigious global championships in 2019.
