Hardik Pandya, the Gujarat Titans captain, was under a lot of pressure to preserve his career heading into the IPL 2022 season. Hardik was not retained by Mumbai Indians after a disappointing IPL 2021 season, and he joined newcomer Titans ahead of the 2022 season. Hardik Pandya, who was heading an IPL squad for the first time, proved all his detractors wrong by leading them to victory in the IPL 2022 final in Ahmedabad on Sunday, with a seven-wicket triumph over Rajasthan Royals (May 29).

By leading GT to victory, the all-rounder joined Rohit Sharma and three other Indian captains in winning an IPL. The other two are MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir. He was also the third skipper to complete the course on the first attempt. Hardik also surpassed MS Dhoni in terms of IPL titles won. Hardik has five wickets currently, tying him with Kieron Pollard and Ambati Rayudu. Rohit Sharma has reached the pinnacle of the tree.

“This is an excellent example for any team anywhere in the globe.” Amazing things can happen if you can play as a team and form a strong bond with genuine people. We, Ashu pa, and I enjoy playing proper bowlers. Batters can undoubtedly contribute, but in T20 cricket, I’ve seen that it’s a batter’s game, but bowlers win games,” Hardik Pandya remarked at the post-match presentation.

“I consider myself fortunate to have won five finals; it’s been thrilling.” This is going to be one of a kind. We discussed leaving a legacy. Generations to come will remember this as the team that began this adventure, and winning the championship in the first year is quite rare,” he continued.

Even the greatest cricket pundits in the country have been taken aback by his MS Dhoni-style of calm leadership, who wouldn’t have thought him a left-field pick in their wildest fantasies even three months ago.

But the desire has come true, and Pandya has led by example, scoring 487 runs and taking eight wickets. During a virtual press conference, Pandya said, “I’ve always embraced the responsibility and been someone who wants to lead from the front so that I can set an example.”

“I need to be the first flag-bearer to show my team the way if I want them to function in a certain way.” As a result, it’s better if I do it first,” Pandya added.
