Chiripal Group Celebrates 54 Years with Actor Boman Irani
Boman Irani Joins Chiripal Group’s 54th Foundation Day Celebrations in Ahmedabad
Squash player Suraj Chand attends as Guest of Honour as the company recognises employee achievements at its annual event
Actor Boman Irani attended Chiripal Group’s 54th Foundation Day celebrations at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Indian squash player Suraj Chand, who won a bronze medal at the Asian Games, was the Guest of Honour at the event.
The gathering brought together the group’s promoters, employees and staff members for an evening that combined entertainment, sporting awards and a review of the company’s history. Employee performances formed part of the programme, while the ceremony also recognised winners of the Chiripal Spark Sports Festival 2026.
During his address, Irani spoke about hard work, professional growth and the need to remain humble after achieving success. He urged the audience to focus on the quality of their work rather than allowing the rewards that come with a senior position to take priority.
“There are no shortcuts in life. There are no magic bullets. You have to pay your dues. When you go from the basement, you work your way up to the shop-floor level. If you work really hard, you will reach the rooftop. When you decide to do something, always deliver. When you decide to do something, do your best.”
Irani also spoke about ambition and the responsibilities that come with career progress.
“When we become successful, we want to become even more successful. There is nothing wrong with that. We want to make more money. There is nothing wrong with that. But with each ladder of success, the perks become better and better. Don’t let the perks of your job become more important than the job itself. Stay rooted. Stay humble,” he went on to say.
The actor’s address placed the focus on the value of consistent effort and professional responsibility. His remarks also formed part of an event that recognised the contribution of employees to the group’s work over the years.
The programme began with a talent show in which Chiripal Group employees performed songs, dances and other acts. A presentation tracing the group’s history followed, along with a cake-cutting ceremony to mark its 54th Foundation Day.
The event also included the presentation of medals to employees who performed well in the Chiripal Spark Sports Festival 2026. The annual festival brings together staff from different companies within the group, giving them a chance to take part in sporting activities and compete with colleagues from other teams.
Ronak Chiripal, promoter of Chiripal Group, said the annual celebration offered an opportunity to recognise employees and review the organisation’s progress. He also referred to the role of sport in encouraging staff participation beyond their regular duties.
“Our Foundation Day is an opportunity to reflect on the Group’s journey and acknowledge the people whose efforts and commitment have shaped Chiripal Group’s growth over the years. Our employees are central to this journey, and it is important to create opportunities for them to connect beyond their everyday roles. The Chiripal Spark Sports Festival encourages participation, discipline and team spirit, while giving employees a platform to pursue their sporting interests and celebrate their achievements. We want to continue building a culture where people have the opportunity to grow, contribute and excel, both at work and beyond it. It is this collective effort that continues to move the Group forward.”
Chiripal Group is an Ahmedabad-headquartered, textile-led business group with interests across several sectors. Its Foundation Day marks the organisation’s establishment and provides an annual occasion for employees and management to gather. The event’s combination of a company history presentation, staff performances and sports awards linked the anniversary with the work and activities of its employees.
Suraj Chand’s presence also drew attention to the group’s involvement in squash through the Chiripal Squash Excellence Programme. The initiative supports squash talent and provides opportunities for athletes to take part in competitive sport. Chand, who has won an Asian Games bronze medal, attended the celebration in recognition of his sporting achievements.
Squash is played by two or four players who use rackets to hit a small ball against the walls of an enclosed court. The sport requires quick movement, control and sustained physical effort. For athletes seeking to compete at higher levels, access to coaching, training facilities and regular competition can play an important part in their development. Support programmes such as the one run by Chiripal Group are intended to assist athletes as they pursue these goals.
The Foundation Day event brought the group’s workplace and sporting activities together in one programme. Employee awards recognised performances in the annual sports festival, while Chand’s attendance connected the celebration with competitive squash. Irani’s speech, in turn, addressed the effort and discipline needed in professional life.
The 54th anniversary gathering closed with recognition of employee participation and achievements. For Chiripal Group, the occasion provided a chance to mark its history while bringing staff members from its different businesses together in Ahmedabad.
