On Wednesday, Ajay Devgn congratulated his wife Kajol on receiving an invitation to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The actress along with Suriya, Reema Kagti, Writing With Fire directors Sushmit Ghosh and Rinti Thomas, and Pan Nalin are among the 397 new members joining the Oscar Academy. Ajay thanked Kajol and uploaded a photo of her online “Congratulations to Kajol on receiving an invitation to the Oscars jury. I’m thrilled and immensely proud. Thank you to everyone who was invited as well.”
The Academy’s official website lists a number of artists and executives who have distinguished themselves through their work on theatrical motion films as new members, as reported by PTI.
Due to her extensive filmography in the Hindi cinema business, which includes My Name Is Khan, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Helicopter Eela, and Tribhanga, among others, Kajol has been selected to be on the panel.
Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Ali Fazal Anil Kapoor, Tabu, Soumitra Chatterjee, Naseeruddin Shah, and other celebrities have also served on the Oscars jury in the past.
Ajay Devgn and Kajol, who wed in 1999, were last spotted together on the job in Tanhaji. Ajay has a long list of upcoming films, including Cirkus, Thank God, Drishyam 2, and Maidaan. Kajol is currently shooting Salaam Venky with Revathy.
