It is possible to judge how well he portrays Lord Rama by the fact that a woman once brought her sick child to Arun Govil and laid the boy at his feet.
Today is actor Arun Govil’s 65th birthday. Born in 1958, his father first intended for him to pursue a career in government, but Arun wanted to do something memorable, so he chose acting. In movies like Sawan Ko Aane Do, Raadha Aur Seeta, Saanch Ko Aanch Nahin, and the television series Vikram Aur Betaal, he played important roles. Arun became well-known thanks to Ramanand Sagar’s hit daily soap Ramayan, though. In the television show, he played the part of Lord Shri Rama. The fact that a woman once brought her sick child to him and placed him in Arun’s feet is a good indicator of his ability to depict characters convincingly.

Arun described how he once arrived at the sets dressed in formal attire in an interview with a portal. He abruptly heard a loud disturbance outside the sets. When Arun inquired about the cause of the noise, some of the crew members informed him that a woman was searching for Lord Shri Rama. Arun resolved to meet the woman as soon as he heard this and quickly headed outdoors.

He exited the sets and observed the woman frantically calling and searching for Lord Shri Rama. She finally exhaled in relief when she saw him and kept her ill kid at his feet. After that, the woman said something that rendered Arun dumbfounded. Thinking Arun to be the true Lord Ram, she pleaded with him to spare his child.

Arun struggled to find the right words to explain to the woman that he is only acting. After giving it some thought, he gave the woman some cash and asked her to take the child to the doctor. Despite this, the mother remained still and claimed that there is little chance that physicians will be able to save him. All of her expectations were now placed on Arun, who was at a loss for words to persuade the woman that he could not treat her kid. When sometimes, she left after Arun kindly informed her that there was nothing he could do.

After three days, the mom unexpectedly showed up on the sets and told Arun that her child had been cured. Arun was overjoyed, and this experience strengthened his faith in Lord Shri Rama.
