Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, successfully wrapped up a meaningful and intensive two-week training program focused on “Advanced Psychological Methods of Investigation: A Way Ahead.” This training, held under the ITEC initiative, brought together 30 participants from 15 different countries—creating a truly global classroom in the heart of Gandhinagar.

Organized by the School of Behavioural Sciences & Forensic Investigations (SBSFI) at RRU, this program is aimed at strengthening international expertise in psychological investigative techniques. Countries like Laos, Liberia, Ethiopia, Ghana, and Vietnam were among the diverse mix of participating nations.

This wasn’t just any academic training—it was a deep dive into the most modern tools and techniques used in crime prevention and forensic investigations today. From understanding human behavior during interrogations to using artificial intelligence for reconstructing crime scenes, the sessions were designed to be practical, hands-on, and globally relevant.

The training included expert-led lectures, lively discussions, and field visits. Topics like criminal profiling, cognitive interviewing, lie detection, forensic psycholinguistics, and neuropsychological assessments kept participants engaged and inspired. AI-based technologies in forensic psychology were also introduced—offering a glimpse into the future of crime-solving.

The Valedictory Ceremony, marking the end of the two-week journey, was filled with pride and appreciation. Dr. Mahesh A. Tripathi, Director (In-Charge) of SBSFI, led the ceremony alongside esteemed faculty and university dignitaries. They shared highlights of the journey, emphasizing how such programs not only build skills but also friendships and international cooperation.

One of the most powerful moments came with the keynote address by Mr. Viraj Singh, Additional Secretary, DPA-II, Ministry of External Affairs. He stressed the importance of cross-border collaboration in forensic sciences and how psychological methods are becoming central to modern investigations. He acknowledged that fighting crime today needs more than just strength—it requires knowledge, compassion, and innovation.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates, a proud moment for the participants. Smiles, handshakes, and group photos captured the bonds that had been formed over two weeks of shared learning and growth.

This program wasn’t just about learning techniques—it was about exchanging cultural perspectives and creating a sense of global responsibility. With these new skills in hand, the participants are now better prepared to make a difference in their home countries law enforcement and forensic landscapes.

For RRU, this successful training program reflects its growing reputation as a leading global institution for forensic and behavioral sciences. By constantly pushing boundaries and creating international partnerships, RRU is helping shape a safer, smarter world—one investigator at a time.
