Mohammed Siraj’s incredible performance with the ball during the recently concluded five-match Test Anderson-Tendulkar series between England and India is currently generating headlines. Mohammed Siraj, the 31-year-old Hyderabadi fast bowler, was in action in five Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy test matches and claimed 23 wickets.
Mohammed Siraj helped Team India and Shubman Gill to successfully defend the target of 374 runs and win the last test match at The Oval by only six runs in the fifth and final Test of the away series. This win has helped India to get good points in WTC ranking and now India stands on third place in WTC ranking of 2025-2027. Mohammed Siraj took four wickets of the England team in the first innings and five wickets for 104 runs in the second innings and crushed English batters in their den.
Indian fans back home praised Siraj for his outstanding performance in the fifth Test. Several celebrities, including Sachin Tendulkar, Jay Shah, and Virat Kohli, praised Siraj in a tweet. Asaduddin Owaisi, a politician and Lok Sabha member from Hyderabad, also praised Siraj in a tweet posted on X. “Always a winner @mdsirajofficial!” was the caption for Owaisi’s widely circulated GIF of Siraj celebrating after grabbing a wicket. In Hyderabadi, we exclaim, “Poora khol diye Pasha!”
On Wednesday, August 4, Siraj noticed Owaisi’s tweet and responded, “Thank you so much sir, always cheering for me.”

Virat Kohli tweeted after India levelled the series at 2-2 with a six-run victory in the fifth Test, which was played at The Oval from July 31 to August 4. In the message, he specifically mentioned Siraj.
“Great win by Team India. Resilience and determination from Siraj and Prasidh have given us this phenomenal victory. Special mention to Siraj, who will put everything on the line for the team. Extremely happy for him,” Kohli tweeted.
For his super show with the ball in the fifth Test, Siraj won the Player of the Match award.
Siraj’s nine-wicket show in the fifth Test also helped him rise 12 positions in the ICC Test bowlers’ rankings. In the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday, Siraj jumped from 27th position to 15th.
