Krida Bharati National Convention highlights sports as a nation-building force
The three-day national convention of Krida Bharati concluded today at Shri Kalki Tirthdham, Preranapith, Pirana Road, Karnavati, Gujarat. The closing ceremony was attended by Shri Alok Kumar, Joint General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, as the chief guest, along with Shri Harshbhai Sanghvi, Deputy Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Gujarat.
On this occasion, Shri Alok Kumar said that sports are not just about competition, but a way to build a healthy and capable India. He shared his belief that Krida Bharati has created a strong identity and is working with the confidence that India can become a world leader in sports. He spoke about how strength and devotion were part of traditional wrestling grounds in history, and said that Krida Bharati’s sports centres would become similar places. He also stressed the need to study and promote traditional sports by keeping India’s geographical conditions in mind.
In his address, Shri Harshbhai Sanghvi congratulated Krida Bharati for the smooth organisation of the All India Convention. He said that due to the far-sighted vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Commonwealth Games 2030 will be held in India, with events planned in Ahmedabad. This has opened new opportunities in the field of sports. He added that as India aims to host the Olympic Games in 2036, Krida Bharati’s goal of creating a healthy society through traditional sports for every citizen is truly admirable and worthy of praise.
During the convention, detailed discussions were held on the action plan for the next three years, the development of various sports, the expansion of training facilities, and the identification and training of players at the grassroots level. The event was attended by special guests, including Olympic athlete Shri Gopal Saini, President of Krida Bharati; Shri Chaitanya Kashyap, Executive Chairman of Krida Bharati and Cabinet Minister of Madhya Pradesh; Shri Raj Chaudhary, General Secretary of Krida Bharati; and Olympic medal winner Yogeshwar Dutt, Vice President of Krida Bharati. Office bearers and volunteers from across the country took part in the convention with great enthusiasm.
An Ahmedabad student secured second place in the Krida Bharati Sports Knowledge Examination. This examination is one of the five main programmes of Krida Bharati and was organised online at the national level. More than two lakh citizens participated in the examination. From Karnavati city, student Yashrajsinh Rajput secured the second position. Today, he was honoured with a cheque of ₹50,000 and a Krida Bharati memento by Shri Alok Kumar, Joint General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
