Vietjet India Vietnam Flights Promotion Announced For 2026

Vietjet Rolls Out Discount Fares for India After Winning Hybrid Airline Honour in South Korea

Indian travellers planning a trip to Vietnam or beyond have a new opportunity to book lower-cost flights after Vietnamese carrier Vietjet announced a week-long fare sale following an international aviation award.

The airline is offering hundreds of thousands of Eco class tickets from INR11, excluding taxes and other charges, on routes between India and Vietnam. The sale began at 10.30 pm IST on 31 July and will continue until 9.30 pm IST on 8 August 2026.

The promotional fares cover Vietjet’s services linking Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, two of Vietnam’s busiest international gateways. Travellers can use the tickets for journeys between 5 September 2026 and 31 March 2027, although the offer does not apply during public holidays and peak travel periods.

The airline has also introduced discounts across its higher fare categories. Passengers booking Business and SkyBoss tickets on direct international services can receive a 30 per cent reduction by using the promotional code BUSB88. A separate offer gives a 20 per cent discount on Deluxe fares for Hanoi to Almaty to Prague flights through the code DLX88.

Customers who reserve meals before departure during the promotion will receive a 50 per cent discount on meal combinations across most routes. The meal offer applies to travel between 18 August 2026 and 31 March 2027 but excludes connecting journeys.

Bookings are available through Vietjet’s official website, its mobile application and authorised sales agents.

The announcement follows Vietjet receiving the Best Hybrid Airline title for the first time at the Korea Consumer Awards 2026. The airline also collected awards for Best Inflight Food Experience and Service Excellence during the same event.

The hybrid airline model has become more common in recent years as airlines try to attract travellers who want lower fares while still having access to optional services. Instead of following a traditional low-cost approach, hybrid airlines usually offer a wider range of ticket types, extra baggage options, premium seating, airport lounge access and onboard services while keeping entry-level fares competitive.

Vietjet has gradually expanded this approach by offering four fare categories: Eco, Deluxe, SkyBoss and Business. Passengers can choose the level of service that best suits their budget and travel needs rather than paying for features they may not use.

The aviation industry has seen strong demand for travel between India and Southeast Asia since international tourism recovered after the pandemic. Vietnam has become one of the fastest-growing destinations for Indian visitors because of its beaches, cultural attractions, business opportunities and comparatively affordable travel costs.

According to Vietnam’s tourism authorities, India has become one of the country’s fastest-growing international visitor markets in recent years. Better air links have played an important part in that growth, with airlines adding more direct flights between Indian cities and Vietnamese destinations.

Vietjet has steadily increased its presence in India by expanding beyond the country’s largest metropolitan centres. The addition of Ahmedabad and Hyderabad to its network has widened access for travellers from western and southern India, reducing the need to connect through larger international hubs.

The airline says it will continue expanding its international network later this year. Planned new services include direct flights between Hanoi and Prague in the Czech Republic, Hanoi and Almaty in Kazakhstan, and Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

These additions reflect a wider trend across Asian aviation. Airlines are restoring routes suspended during the pandemic while opening services to destinations where demand from leisure travellers, business passengers and visiting families has increased. Direct flights can shorten travel times and often reduce the need for multiple airport transfers.

Vietnam itself has become an increasingly important aviation market in Southeast Asia. The country’s growing economy, expanding tourism sector and rising middle class have encouraged both domestic and international airlines to increase capacity. Airports in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City continue to serve as major gateways for travellers heading to other parts of Asia.

Competition among airlines operating between India and Vietnam has also become stronger. Several carriers now offer direct services, giving passengers more choices on schedules and pricing. Industry observers say increased competition generally encourages airlines to introduce promotional fares during quieter booking periods and before major travel seasons.

Vietjet operates a fleet of modern aircraft designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce operating costs. The airline states that passengers can choose from several fare options and order freshly prepared hot meals featuring Vietnamese dishes such as pho and banh mi alongside international food selections. Vietnamese iced milk coffee is also available on board. On selected services, passengers may also experience cultural performances during the flight.

For Indian travellers planning holidays, family visits or business trips, the latest promotion provides another opportunity to secure lower fares before the busy travel season begins. The airline’s continued expansion of routes and fare choices reflects growing links between India and Vietnam, a market that has recorded steady growth in passenger traffic over the past few years and is expected to remain an important part of regional aviation.
