Around 250 NCC cadets, school students, and villagers attended the program.
Activities included dance performances, speeches, songs, and a play on the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ theme to spread social awareness.
Guests highlighted the importance of VVP for border villages and thanked NCC for the initiative.
Stationery was distributed to participating students and cadets.
Mementos were presented to guests as a token of gratitude.

On a bright and hopeful morning of 25 April 2025, Mamana village, tucked away in Gujarat’s Suigam border area, came alive with celebration, energy, and a strong spirit of community. The NCC Directorate Gujarat organized a very special event – the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) – at the premises of Mamana Anupam Pagar Kendra Shala, aiming to bring positive change to the lives of people living in border villages.
The Vibrant Village Programme, a proud initiative by the Government of India, is focused on developing border villages by providing essential facilities, improving their standard of living, and boosting local economies. And this event at Mamana was a beautiful step in that direction.
The program began with a traditional prayer and lighting of lamps, setting a serene and sacred tone for the day. Lieutenant Colonel Priti Tiwari, the Officiating Commanding Officer of the 35 Gujarat Battalion NCC, warmly welcomed all the esteemed guests. Among them were Dr. Arvind Prajapati, SDM Suigam, SI Ishwar Singh from the 137 BSF Battalion and his team, Mr. Praveen Danji, Tehsildar, Mr. Ummed Danji, Sarpanch of Mamana village, and Dr. Mahipal Singh Gadhvi, Managing Trustee of Mamana Anupam Pagar Kendra Shala. School principals, teachers, and about 250 NCC cadets, school children, and local villagers were also part of the lively gathering.
The atmosphere soon turned festive as NCC cadets and students took center stage. They showcased a variety of vibrant performances, including traditional dances, motivational speeches, heartfelt songs, and a powerful skit based on the theme ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, spreading the crucial message of saving and educating daughters. The energy of the young performers was infectious, filling the venue with applause, smiles, and hope for a brighter future.
During their addresses, the SDM of Suigam, the BSF representative, and the village Sarpanch shared their thoughts about the importance of the Vibrant Village Programme. They stressed how such initiatives could transform the lives of people living in remote areas by bringing opportunities closer to them. Each speaker also appreciated the efforts of the NCC Directorate, Gujarat, for organizing such an impactful awareness event and bringing attention to the needs of border villages.
A heartfelt moment came when stationery kits were distributed among the NCC cadets and school children. The small act of kindness was met with huge smiles from the young participants, who felt recognized and encouraged to continue their journey of education and personal development.
Adding a touch of warmth and respect to the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Priti Tiwari, along with Subedar Major Sudheesh K, presented mementos to the guests, thanking them for their valuable time and support. In her closing remarks, Lieutenant Colonel Tiwari expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, school principals, teachers, students, and villagers for their enthusiastic participation and contribution to the program’s grand success.
