In the fourth round, Sinner defeated the Spaniard.
Despite falling to Jannik Sinner on Sunday in the fourth round, Carlos Alcaraz thinks his experience on a grass court at Wimbledon will be very helpful in the future.

The 19-year-old Spanish player, who was just making his second appearance at The Championships, defeated Oscar Otte, Jan-Lennard Struff, and Tallon Griekspoor while bringing his all-court style to the London lawns.

Alcaraz stated in the news conference following the match, “I felt pretty happy playing on the grass here at Wimbledon. “Playing on grass gave me a lot of experience. I’m beginning to believe that I could play well on grass. I intend to modify my game the following year in order to become more accustomed to playing here by competing in certain tournaments before Wimbledon. However, I believe I will excel at playing on grass.

Sinner Sinks Alcaraz In Style is Another Article You Might Like Two of the top players on the ATP Tour squared off in Alcaraz vs. Sinner’s match on Centre Court at Wimbledon. The 19-year-old Italian won a hard-hitting encounter to advance to Wimbledon’s fourth round or later the youngest match (in terms of combined age) since 17-year-old Boris Becker defeated 21-year-old Henri Leconte in the quarterfinals in 1985.

Alcaraz is looking forward to a storied rivalry with Sinner, as the previous winners of the Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals are currently tied at 1-1 in their ATP Head2Head series.

When asked if Sinner and Alcaraz had a rivalry, Alcaraz responded, “I hope so. “I intend to work hard to rank among the top tennis players in the world for a very long time. Jannik is undoubtedly among the finest tennis players in the world. He will undoubtedly be at the top for a long time.

“I’m hoping we’ll have a terrific rivalry. Together, we intend to compete in the best competitions and events in history.

Alcaraz has had a remarkable year in 2022. The 19-year-old has won four tournaments, including two ATP Masters 1000 crowns, and is the youngest player to reach the Top 10 in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings since Rafael Nadal in 2005. He currently holds a joint Tour-leading four victories.

The Spaniard acknowledged that against Sinner, he struggled to perform at his peak, with nervousness contributing to a discouraging afternoon.

“At first, I was pretty anxious. I find it challenging to play on Center Court, according to Alcaraz, who has a season record of 35-5. “Jannik handled the strain and the nerves better than I did. I was attempting to feel better while also trying to process what was happening. I was having a lot of trouble serving and couldn’t return the ball well.

“After the third set, I had opportunities to break and lead in the fourth, but I was unable to seize them. I believe he broke me at his second break point. After falling behind in the fourth, it was difficult to recover. I was unable to take any chances. That’s difficult.
