Army Agniveer Clerk Recruitment Rally Set for October 12 in Chandrapur
Candidates from 13 Gujarat districts and Diu to report at Visapur for Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical selection
Young candidates from 13 districts of Gujarat and the Union Territory of Diu will travel to Maharashtra this month for the next stage of Indian Army recruitment under the Agnipath scheme.
The Army Recruiting Office, Nagpur, will conduct the Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical (Clk/SKT) Recruitment Rally on October 12, 2026, at the Taluka Sports Complex, Visapur, District Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Candidates covered by the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Jamnagar area have been called for the rally.
The reporting time listed for the rally is 12.15 am on October 12.
The districts covered are Jamnagar, Porbandar, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Surendranagar, Kutch, Gir Somnath, Botad, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka and Patan, along with Diu Union Territory.
The arrangement means candidates from the ARO Jamnagar recruitment area will attend a rally being conducted under the aegis of ARO Nagpur. A similar arrangement for the Clerk/Store Keeper Technical category was included in the 2026 recruitment schedule for the Jamnagar region.
Admit cards already issued
Candidates shortlisted for the rally were sent their admit cards to their registered email addresses on August 10, 2026. They have also been asked to log in to the Join Indian Army website using their username and password to download the document.
The admit card is an important document for entry to the rally. Recent Army recruitment instructions state that candidates are permitted to enter the rally venue only on the date and time given on their admit card. Candidates are also required to carry the documents prescribed for the recruitment process.
Candidates who have questions about the rally can contact the Army Recruiting Office, Jamnagar, on 0288-2550346 or 8866976188.
Clerk and Store Keeper Technical role
The Clerk/Store Keeper Technical category is one of the trades recruited by the Indian Army through the Agnipath recruitment system. The category has appeared in Army recruitment alongside General Duty, Technical and Tradesman entries.
For candidates in this category, academic performance is an important part of eligibility. Previous official Army recruitment notifications have specified Class 12 qualification with at least 60 per cent marks in aggregate and at least 50 per cent in each subject, with 50 per cent required in English and Mathematics, Accounts or Bookkeeping in Class 12. Candidates must also meet the age, physical, medical and other conditions prescribed in the applicable recruitment notification.
The exact conditions applicable to the 2026-27 recruitment should be checked against the candidate’s recruitment notification and admit card rather than relying on older eligibility rules.
How Army recruitment now works
The Army’s present recruitment system begins with an Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE). For the 2026-27 recruiting year, the Army opened online registration for Agnipath and Regular Cadre recruitment in February 2026, with applications accepted until April 1. Candidates first take the computer-based CEE before shortlisted applicants proceed to the recruitment rally stage.
The rally stage includes physical and other screening requirements. Depending on the category, candidates may also undergo document verification, physical measurement and medical examination. The Army has used this two-stage process in recent recruitment years, with final selection based on the prescribed recruitment criteria.
Agnipath and four years of service
The Agnipath scheme was approved by the Union Cabinet in June 2022. Under the scheme, selected youth join the Armed Forces as Agniveers for a four-year period. The scheme was introduced with the stated aim of creating a younger profile in the Armed Forces while giving young people military training and experience.
At the end of the four years, Agniveers can apply for permanent enrolment in the regular cadre. Selection is based on organisational requirements and performance, with up to 25 per cent of each specific batch eligible for enrolment in the regular cadre under the scheme’s stated framework.
Government information released in 2026 said that up to 1.5 lakh Agniveers had been enrolled by early 2025. It also noted measures aimed at helping former Agniveers find civilian employment after their military service, including reservation in recruitment to the Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles.
For the candidates from Gujarat and Diu who have cleared the earlier stages, the October 12 rally is therefore a key part of their Army recruitment journey.
They will need to reach the Taluka Sports Complex in Visapur, Chandrapur, at the time stated on their admit cards and carry the required original documents and other items specified by the Army. Candidates should also rely on official Army instructions for any last-minute changes in reporting arrangements.
The Army Recruiting Office, Jamnagar remains the contact point for candidates from the listed Gujarat districts and Diu seeking clarification about the rally.
