Ahmedabad Sardardham Convention Sets January 2027 Dates
Sardardham to Stage Sardar Patel Play as Ahmedabad Prepares for Major Patidar Convention
Hindi theatre production on October 31 will mark Patel’s 151st birth anniversary, while January’s three-day convention will focus on business, youth education and a proposed ₹10,000 crore fund
Sardardham Ahmedabad will mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with a Hindi play featuring actor Manoj Joshi on Saturday, October 31. The organisation is also preparing a three-day International Convention in January 2027, bringing together business leaders, professionals and members of the global Patidar community.
The play, titled “Sardar – The Architect of United India”, will be staged at 7:45 PM on October 31 at the ground next to Sardardham Phase-2 Girls Hostel in Ahmedabad. More than 5,000 people are expected to attend, although entry will be strictly by invitation.
The production has been performed in theatres in Mumbai and other states. Its Ahmedabad staging is part of Sardardham’s programme to mark Patel’s birth anniversary, which falls on October 31.
Patel, born in Nadiad in Gujarat in 1875, played a key role in bringing hundreds of princely states into the Indian Union after Independence. As India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, he worked to secure the country’s political unity at a time when its future was uncertain.
His birth anniversary is observed across India as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, or National Unity Day. The day is marked by public programmes, unity pledges and events that recall his role in the making of modern India.
The play starring Manoj Joshi will form part of Sardardham’s wider effort to take Patel’s life and work to people across Gujarat. During the 151st birth anniversary year, the organisation plans to distribute literature and spread awareness through its “Har Ghar Sardar” campaign.
The campaign is intended to bring information about Patel’s life and legacy to households. It will run alongside other activities planned by Sardardham during the year.
Sardardham has scheduled its International Convention in Ahmedabad from January 7 to 9, 2027.
The event is expected to bring together 10,000 business leaders from India and abroad for discussions on business, community development and opportunities for cooperation. Its stated aim is to strengthen social, economic and cultural ties among the global Patidar community.
The opening ceremony will be held on January 7 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The programme on January 8 will include eight industry-wise seminars. These sessions are expected to cover different industries and provide a platform for discussions on business opportunities in India and overseas.
An evening programme, “Ek Shaam NRI Ke Naam”, will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It will focus on dialogue between people living in India and members of the Indian community settled abroad, with discussions on business opportunities in both markets.
The final day, January 9, will feature eight sector-wise seminars. The closing ceremony will run from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The organisers will present the conclusions of the three-day convention during the closing ceremony. They will also announce the venue and dates of the next Global Business Summit and Convention.
The convention is also linked to Sardardham’s Mission-2047 roadmap, which includes plans for youth education, training, housing and business development.
The organisation has set a target of raising ₹10,000 crore through the convention and related efforts.
The proposed fund is connected to Sardardham’s five main goals, which cover education, affordable accommodation, preparation for government services, business activity and social organisation.
One of the targets is to build Gurukulams, a university and specialised academies for 30,000 students. Another is to develop affordable hostel facilities for 30,000 young people.
Sardardham also plans to train 30,000 young people for administrative and public services, including the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), judiciary and defence services.
These programmes aim to help young people prepare for careers in government and other fields. Access to education, training and affordable accommodation remains a major concern for students who move away from home to study or prepare for competitive examinations.
The organisation’s fourth target is to generate ₹30,000 crore in business volume through GPBS.
Its fifth goal is to run the “Samaj Jodo Abhiyan” through a network of 100,000 youth volunteers. The campaign is intended to strengthen links within the community and encourage young people to take part in social activities.
The October 31 play and the January convention serve different purposes within Sardardham’s programme.
The theatre production focuses on Patel’s life and contribution to national unity. The convention, by contrast, is centred on business, education and the future of the Patidar community.
The January event will bring together people from different industries and countries, while its seminars are expected to provide space for discussions on business and sector-specific issues.
The proposed ₹10,000 crore fund and the five targets set by Sardardham are among the main announcements connected with Mission-2047.
The scale of the plans will depend on how the organisation carries them out, including the development of educational facilities, hostel projects and training programmes.
For now, Sardardham’s immediate public event is the October 31 Hindi play in Ahmedabad. The January convention will follow, with business leaders and members of the Patidar community expected to take part in discussions on the organisation’s plans for the years ahead.
