A Major Setback For India After The Rishabh Pant Injury Update at Tea

Rishabh Pant did not take the field after tea during the 3rd India vs England Test at Lord’s, raising concerns among fans.

Fans were alarmed when Rishabh Pant did not take the pitch during tea during the third India vs. England Test at Lord’s.

Due to a finger injury, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant left the pitch and hasn’t been back since, which may be a major setback for India. After taking a hit on his left finger in the 34th over, Pant left the pitch. The keeper injured one of his left hand’s fingers while moving behind the stumps to pick up deliveries that Jasprit Bumrah had strayed down leg-side. When he left the pitch to be replaced by Dhruv Jurel, the injury seemed manageable at first, but it quickly grew critical. As soon as he walked into the Indian dressing room, even India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir, who was watching the game from the iconic Lord’s balcony, got up and tried to Pant.

Pant’s finger was briefly treated with magic spray, but it wasn’t enough to keep him on the pitch. He departed with the intention of returning quickly. Fans were concerned when Pant failed to show up for the final session, which started after tea. Fortunately, the first information regarding Pant’s injury has surfaced. Michael Atherton, the former captain of England, stated on television that the wicketkeeper has really “chipped a fingernail.”

“Rishabh Pant is still absent. He has a chipped fingernail, according to the news from the dressing room. “I’m giving him ice treatment,” he stated.

The BCCI soon announced that Rishabh Pant, the vice captain of Team India, had been injured, saying: “He was struck on the left index finger. He is currently undergoing therapy and is being watched over by the medical staff. In Rishabh’s absence, Dhruv Jurel is now maintaining wickets.

This is hardly encouraging for the Indian squad. Whenever the BCCI makes a remark like this, it’s usually bad news. The fact that Pant is one of this team’s in-form batters makes things worse for Team India with this injury.

Summary of Day 1

With 342 runs from the first two games in Leeds and Birmingham, Pant is India’s second-highest run scorer of the current series, behind skipper Shubman Gill, for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Despite it being in a losing cause, Pant became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score two hundreds at Headingley. Pant’s half-century in the second innings gave India a much-needed boost in scoring rate, enabling them to set England a target of 336. Despite his scores of 25 and 65 at Edgbaston, he refused to mind.

So, at the end of day 1 of the third test match between India and England at Lord’s, here is the summary of Day 1. It was an anti-bazball style of playing tactics which is unusual for England, as they scored only 251 runs on day one.
