In a recent interview, Vishal Aditya Singh, who stars in COLORS’ new show ‘Chand Jalne Laga,’ shared his thoughts on the show, his character, and what drew him to this romantic drama.

1. Tell us about the show, ‘Chand Jalne Laga’.

• ‘Chand Jalne Laga‘ is a beautiful love story. It’s about Dev and Tara, who were childhood sweethearts but got separated by fate. They go through ups and downs, love and heartbreak, and the story unfolds in a picturesque vineyard. It’s all about rediscovering lost love and the complexities of their relationship.

2. Tell us about your character in the show.

• I play Dev, a kind-hearted man who works with horses for a wealthy family. He’s determined and self-made. But circumstances make him do things he doesn’t want to. As a child, he helps Tara overcome her fears and teaches her valuable life lessons. However, a misunderstanding drives them apart, and Dev’s life takes a dramatic turn. He becomes wealthy and his goal is to make Tara suffer for taking away his happiness.

3. How did you prepare for this role? How is it different from your previous roles?

• To get into Dev’s character, I spent a lot of time alone, gazing at the sky. It helped me feel the loneliness that Dev has. His character is very calculated, and he doesn’t show a lot of emotions, which was a challenge for me. This role is unique because of its complexity.

4. The show’s teaser has generated a lot of excitement. How do you feel about the response?

• The response to the teaser has been heartwarming. I believe it’s been a while since the audience has seen a passionate love story that all age groups can enjoy. The teaser, with its music and visuals, has left viewers eager for the show. It’s truly rewarding to see the teaser strike a chord with the audience.

5. What made you say yes to the show?

• When I read the script, I was amazed. I’d been waiting for a love story for 2-3 years, and ‘Chand Jalne Laga‘ was it. The character of Dev fascinated me, and the emotional depth of the role presented a challenge that I found compelling. It’s a chance for me to show my versatility, and the project spoke to my heart.

6. How is your equation with your co-star, Kanika Maan?

• Working with Kanika Maan has been delightful. She’s a talented co-actor, and our chemistry on-screen has been appreciated in the teaser. We have a natural synergy, and we inspire each other to do better. It’s fulfilling to work with her, and I hope viewers will love our on-screen chemistry.
