Gigi Hadid’s Arrest
Gigi Hadid has been detained on suspicion of bringing marijuana into the country and bringing ganja-related items into the country.
According to reports, Gigi Hadid was detained while on vacation in the Cayman Islands for having marijuana on her person. At the time of her arrest, the celebrity was travelling with her companion Leah Nicole McCarthy. On July 10, when she arrived at the airport, officials inspected her luggage and she was discovered, according to Cayman Marl Road.
Their bags was checked more carefully after the scan. At that point, police reported finding marijuana and “utensils used for the consumption of ganja.”
Gigi and Leah, who are 28 and 29 years old, respectively, have been detained on suspicion of importing marijuana and ganja-related tools. They were both driven to the prisoner detention facility. They were processed before being granted bail and freed.
Following their court appearances on July 12, both women entered guilty pleas. They avoided a formal conviction and received a $1,000 fine instead.
“Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical licence,” her representative told E! News. Additionally, Grand Cayman has permitted its medical use since 2017. She continued to have a clean record and loved her remaining time on the island.
