Gujarat’s EV Push Gets Bigger as Oben Rorr Evo Arrives

The announcement comes at a time when Gujarat is rapidly emerging as one of India’s leading electric vehicle markets. Recent industry data showed that EV sales in Gujarat rose sharply during 2026, with electric two-wheelers accounting for a large share of the growth. Continued government support, growing public awareness and expanding charging infrastructure have encouraged more people to consider electric mobility for their daily travel.

Riding on this momentum, the company plans to expand its retail footprint across Gujarat to 15 showrooms by FY27, strengthening access to electric motorcycles, after-sales service and ownership support across one of India’s fastest-growing EV markets.

The expansion comes as Gujarat continues to witness growing adoption of electric mobility, supported by increasing consumer awareness, a rapidly evolving EV ecosystem and rising demand for performance-oriented electric motorcycles. Oben Electric views the state as a key strategic market in its national growth journey and plans to further strengthen its presence across major cities, including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Mehsana.

Industry observers note that Gujarat is becoming increasingly attractive for EV manufacturers. The state government is working to develop major automotive regions such as Sanand and Mandal Becharaji Special Investment Region into dedicated EV manufacturing and component hubs. This growing industrial ecosystem is expected to support future growth for companies operating in the electric mobility sector.

Ahmedabad has emerged as a key market for Oben Electric, contributing nearly 30% of total Rorr Evo bookings from Gujarat. Reflecting growing confidence in both the electric motorcycle category and Oben Electric’s product proposition, the company has also received over 500 dealer enquiries from Gujarat in the last 30 days, highlighting the significant opportunity for EV growth across the state.

The city has already become an important centre for electric mobility adoption. Efforts to improve charging infrastructure and public awareness are helping more residents shift towards cleaner transport options. Industry experts believe that strong urban demand in cities such as Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara will continue to drive electric two-wheeler sales over the next few years.

Industry reports show that the newly launched Oben Rorr Evo crossed 25,000 bookings within just 15 days of launch, making it one of the fastest early booking successes in India’s electric motorcycle segment. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in June 2026.

The response to the newly launched Oben Rorr Evo marks one of the fastest early booking ramp-ups seen in India’s electric motorcycle segment. Rorr Evo deliveries are scheduled to commence from June 2026, while customers can continue availing the introductory ₹99,999 (ex-showroom) pricing through the live online payment portal.

Priced at an introductory ₹99,999 (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 customers and ₹1,24,999 (ex-showroom) thereafter, the newly launched Rorr Evo delivers a premium performance package that stands ahead of its segment. The motorcycle is powered by Oben Electric’s proprietary IPMSM motor producing 9 kW peak power.

The Rorr Evo comes equipped with a 3.4 kWh LFP battery offering a claimed range of 180 km, acceleration from 0–40 km/h in 3 seconds, and a top speed of 110 km/h. The motorcycle supports fast charging from 0–80% in 90 minutes and is backed by an 8-year battery warranty. Industry experts say that long battery warranties and faster charging times are becoming major deciding factors for customers considering electric motorcycles, particularly for daily commuting and city travel.

Supporting its rapid nationwide growth, Oben Electric currently operates through 150+ showrooms and dedicated service centres across 100+ cities in over 18 states, with plans to add another 200 exclusive showrooms across India by FY27. The company operates a vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Bengaluru with an annual production capacity of 1 lakh motorcycles.
