Match Details

India wins the T20 Series against Ireland by 2-0 here in Dublin yesterday.  India has won all four T20 matches against Ireland making it 4-0.  Ireland was beaten by just 4 runs avoiding an upset.  If Ireland had managed to chase down the 228 runs, then the series could have been tied 1-1.

After winning the toss, Indian Captain Hardik Pandya elected to bat.  Ishan Kishan was dismissed early and there came the centurion man, Deepak Hooda who scored 104 in just 57 balls.

Sanju Samson also showed his class and scored 77 in 42 balls.  The first wicket partnership between Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda was 176 runs which helped India to place a good total.

Deepak Hooda went on to score his first maidan Century in T20 International becoming the 4th Indian player to do so.

Samson was bowled by Adair of slow delivery and Samson missed out completely and was bowled when he was at 77.

Surya Kumar Yadav Joined Deepak Hooda.  Yadav played some good shots but could not last long and he was caught behind by the wicketkeeper of the bowling of Josh Little.  Yadav scored 15 runs in just 5 balls.

It looked that India will cross the 250 mark, however, in the last couple of overs Ireland bowled with good line and length and India lost quick wickets.

There were three Golden Ducks in last 2 overs in face of Dinesh Karthik, Axar Patel, and Harshal Patel.  All three of them did not give any trouble to scorers at all and were out without opening their accounts.

Indian Captain Hardik Pandya was not out at 15 and Bhuvi was also not out at 1.  India gave a target of 228 runs for the Irish men to chase in 20 overs.

Ireland Innings

The Irish openers got a very good start and they scored 72 runs in 5.3 overs.  The openers Paul Stirling and captain Balbirine scored the runs at a very brisk pace.

Paul Stirling was bowled by the Googly of Ravi Bishnoi at 40. The Irish batsman kept of scoring runs and they ended their run chase at 221 in 20 overs.

The last over was bowled by Umran Malik and Ireland was required to score 6 runs in the last ball, which they could not and India clinched the two-match T20 series by 2-0.
