“We’ll meet with India for talks (on the Ukrainian crisis). During a White House press conference on the Ukrainian conflict, Joe Biden told reporters, “We haven’t entirely settled that.”
Following a military action by Russia, President Joe Biden stated that the US will consult with India on the problem in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said his decision to conduct a military campaign in Ukraine was prompted by threats from the neighboring country in a televised address on Thursday.
He also warned other countries that interfering with the Russian military action would result in “never-before-seen consequences.”
“We’ll meet with India for talks (on the Ukrainian crisis). We haven’t gotten to the bottom of it yet.
During a White House press conference on the Ukrainian crisis, Biden informed reporters, “I am absolutely committed.”
He was responding to a question on whether India was totally behind the US in the face of Russian aggression.
On the Ukrainian problem, it is recognized that India and the United States are at odds.
India and Russia have a long and enduring affinity. At the same time, during the last decade and a half, its strategic cooperation with the United States has grown at an unparalleled rate.
The Biden administration is thought to have sought out to their Indian counterparts at many levels, including the White House, State Department, and National Security Council, requesting full support on the Ukrainian crisis.
A senior administration official avoided queries about India’s position on the Ukrainian situation at the UN Security Council during a background briefing with reporters.
Behind the scenes, though, US officials have voiced their disapproval with India’s recent position to their Indian colleagues. India has preserved its strategic independence under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Modi spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the phone earlier today, reiterating India’s long-held belief that the issues between Russia and the NATO group can only be resolved by honest and sincere conversation.
The prime minister called for an immediate end to the violence and for all parties to work together to return to the road of diplomatic engagement and diplomacy. According to a Ministry of External Affairs press release.
In a televised address on Thursday morning, President Putin declared that, in response to a request from the head of the Donbas region, he had decided to launch a special military operation to safeguard people “who have been subjected to abuse and extermination by the Kyiv dictatorship for eight years.” Putin has stated that Russia does not intend to take Ukrainian territory.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, Russian forces are utilizing precision weaponry to destroy Ukrainian military installations. Russia has already been hit with a slew of restrictions designed to prohibit it from accessing Western financial markets.
