Movie Review: “Ek Din”

Ek Din Movie Review: A Magical Love Story in Japan That Will Touch Your Soul

I went to see a movie called Ek Din. It is a remake of a Thai romantic drama called One Day. To be honest, I haven’t seen the original film, but let me tell you about my experience watching this one.

Hello! My name is Chetansinh Chauhan. Now, I know that when people hear the word “remake,” it usually ruins the mood. Junaid’s last film, Love Yappa, was also a remake. This one is too. But honestly, even though I saw it in a small cinema, there was a real audience there! I wondered why people were watching this instead of Raja Shivaji, but everyone has their own choice.

I have seen the movie, and mark my words, you might want to scold me, but I actually liked the movie! Don’t judge me. In this film, Junaid plays a role that really suits him. He looks like a very innocent, simple boy who is easy to fool. I am talking about the character he plays, so please don’t misunderstand me.

The Story

The story is about two office friends who go on a trip to Japan. Our hero is already in love with the girl. He makes a wish that she could be his, even if it is only for one day, means “Ek Din”. To find out what happens next, you should watch the film. It has twists, turns, a bit of magic, medical science, and love. It keeps you interested and you won’t feel bored.

Acting and Feel

In terms of acting, Sai Pallavi is wonderful. She is adorable. Personally, I’m not a big fan of Junaid, but the character he plays fits his face perfectly. If you haven’t seen the original movie, you will really like this one.

If you are a couple, go and watch it. Your girlfriend might even give you a hug after seeing it! And if you don’t have a girlfriend, don’t worry. You can still watch it to learn what true love looks like without any hidden motives. Unlike other romantic films, there isn’t even a simple kiss in this movie. It is just pure love with a medical twist.

My Final Thoughts

This movie reminded me of a Hollywood film called If Only (2004), which is one of my favourites. If this didn’t have the “remake” label on it, people might call it a masterpiece. There is no over-the-top drama, just some light comedy that will make you smile.

The songs weren’t great, just okay. I think if this had gone straight to streaming (OTT), it would have been a huge hit. Just like the movie Laapataa Ladies, which did better online than in cinemas, this film might follow the same path. It is also an Aamir Khan production.

My Rating: 3 stars out of 5 stars.

I really liked the movie. They could have cast a different hero, but it is what it is. Have you seen the original, or will you give this one a chance? See you in the next video!
