In Hindi cinema, late actor Amjad Khan popularised the role of renowned dacoit Gabbar Singh. Khan was a compassionate man who had a career spanning two decades. According to his oldest son, actor and writer Shadaab Khan, his legacy was not acknowledged by his peers in the business. Producers owed Khan Rs. 1.25 crore, according to Shadaab, but never returned it after his untimely death.

What is the significance of this story?
Khan rose to stardom after Sholay and went on to star in films such as Shatranj Ke Khilari, Satte Pe Satta, Yaarana, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen, Parvarish, Suhaag, and Chakkar Pe Chakkar.
However,

He died of a heart attack in 1992, leaving his wife and three children, Shadaab, Ahlam, and Seemab, alone.

Hearing’sob tales,’ Khan ‘let go of a lot of money.’

Shadaab said in a recent conversation with you that his father was a very trusting person.

“My father had a practice of assisting others and donating large sums of money. Producers came home and told him sad stories about their lives, promising him the keys to their homes “he stated Khan lent them money without hesitation, despite seeing right through them.

‘No one stepped up to pay up,’ says the situation.

“Producers owing him Rs. 1 crore 25 lakh when he died,” the Scam 1992 star recalled. But no one from that group came forward to make a payment.” He said, “A few people had borrowed money from him, and just a few of them had paid it back. Consider how much money we lost that was rightfully ours!” However, at the moment, an unusual link had provided assistance.

Offer

Middle Eastern gangsters wanted to give the money.

Shehla Khan received a call from a mobster from the Middle East four months after the Bollywood actor died in July 1992.

“He stated. because her husband was a decent man, he would give her that amount in three days,” she added.

“She flatly denied” the offer, Shadaab recounted, “claiming that her husband never received favors from the underworld.”

What do you think?

His mother assisted the family in regaining their footing.

The Khans regained their footing exclusively because of their mother, Shadaab stated, despite many colleagues turning their backs on them. “We would have been on the streets if she hadn’t been strong at the time. She started working in the construction industry “he stated
