Rishanvee Joshi Wins Two Golds at Gujarat Athletics Meet

Ahmedabad School Athlete Rishanvee Joshi Wins Two Golds at Gujarat Junior Athletics Meet

Rishanvee Joshi, a Grade XI student identified by Delhi Public School-Bopal, Ahmedabad, won gold medals in both the 100-metre and 200-metre races at the Gujarat State Junior Athletics Meet held at the athletics track of Shri Govind Guru University in Godhra.

The two wins placed the young sprinter among Gujarat’s leading junior competitors and led to her selection to represent the state at the National Youth Athletics Championships in Ludhiana, Punjab. The state meet was held at Shri Govind Guru University, a venue that has hosted athletics competitions in Gujarat.

The Gujarat State Junior Athletics Meet 2026 was scheduled from August 24 to 26 at the university’s athletics track in Vinzol, Godhra. The competition was organised under the Gujarat State Athletics Association and also served as a selection event for the West Zone Junior Athletics Championship scheduled in Goa later in September.

For Rishanvee, the two sprint victories added to a record of success in school and state-level athletics. Publicly available athletics records identify the athlete as Rishanvee Hariom Joshi, born on December 12, 2009, and list her as an Indian competitor. World Athletics records also show her competing in the 2026 National Youth Athletics Championships in Ludhiana.

Rishanvee Joshi’s earlier results show that the two sprint events have been a regular part of her competition record. A school publication from 2025 listed Rishanvee as a gold medallist in the girls’ 100m and 200m events at the taluka level under the Under-17 category. The same publication recorded state-level gold medals in the 60m and 100m events.

Rishanvee Joshi has also appeared in results from Gujarat athletics competitions. A Gujarat State Athletics Association result document from 2025 lists Rishanvee Hariom Joshi from Ahmedabad in the girls’ competition, showing a time of 7.80 seconds in one of the sprint events.

Rishanvee Joshi Athletics Championships were held from September 1 to 3, 2026, at Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana. The meet, organised by the Punjab Athletics Association under the Athletics Federation of India, was for Under-18 athletes and included 68 events across three days.

The national meet brought together young athletes from states across India. Gujarat finished with one gold medal in the overall state medal table. Haryana topped the table with 14 medals, including four golds, while Maharashtra finished second with eight medals.

Rishanvee’s own appearance in Ludhiana produced a recorded 200m time of 25.70 seconds. World Athletics lists the performance from September 2 at Guru Nanak Stadium, with a wind reading of +0.4 metres per second. The result was recorded in a heat of the women’s Under-18 200m event.

The national championship also showed the level of competition faced by young sprinters in India. In the women’s 100m event, the schedule included heats on the opening day, while the women’s 200m final was held on the third day. The championships covered sprint races, hurdles, middle-distance events, jumps, throws, race walks, heptathlon and relay events.

Several athletes produced strong results in Ludhiana. Karnataka’s Nupura Holla won the girls’ 100m hurdles and was named the best female athlete of the championships. Maharashtra’s Yash Mulik received the corresponding men’s award. The meet also saw records fall in events such as the boys’ high jump and men’s and women’s javelin throw.

For young athletes such as Rishanvee, state competitions provide the route into larger national meets. The Gujarat junior meet’s role as a selection competition makes the result more than a school sports achievement. Performances at such meets can determine which athletes move on to zone and national competitions, giving them the chance to compete against athletes from other parts of the country.

The progression is also visible in Rishanvee’s earlier results. Her records show appearances in sprint competitions from school and district-level events before her participation in higher-level meets. At the 2025-26 school sports level, she was listed as an Under-17 athlete who won gold in both the 100m and 200m at the taluka stage.

The supplied account places Rishanvee at Delhi Public School-Bopal and says the school’s Sports Department congratulated her after the Gujarat meet. Publicly available athletics records, however, also contain references to the same athlete under the name Rishanvee Hariom Joshi and earlier school records connected with Zydus School for Excellence. Those records should be checked against the athlete’s current school details before publication of any formal biography.

Rishanvee Joshi’s two Gujarat gold medals and subsequent national-level appearance add another chapter to the record of a young Ahmedabad sprinter who has been competing successfully in short-distance races for several years. The next stage of her athletics career will depend on her performances at higher-level competitions and her continued progress in the 100m and 200m events.

The writing approach above follows the supplied guidance on avoiding stock AI wording, repeated sentence structures, buzzwords and formulaic article endings.
