Rotary Ahmedabad Installs New Leadership for 2026-27 Year
Rotary Ahmedabad Plans Oxygen Parks, Education Drives And Civic Projects This Year.
Rotary Club Aadarsh Ahmedabad marked the beginning of the Rotary Year 2026-27 with an installation ceremony held at Hotel Grand Elegance in Ahmedabad on 3 July, bringing together senior Rotary leaders, club members and guests from across the district.
The event formally introduced the club’s leadership team for the new year, with District Governor Rtn Naimish Ravani of Rotary District 3055 installing Rtn Subhojit Sen as President, Rtn Rupesh Shah as Secretary and Rtn Nrupesh Shah as Treasurer.
Seventeen board members for the new term also took office during the ceremony, reflecting the club’s organisational structure for the year ahead. The event additionally included the induction of six new members into Rotary, a process led by Rtn Riya Asudani, Assistant Governor for Zone 2 of Rotary District 3055.
Leadership transitions are an important annual tradition within Rotary clubs across the world. New office bearers take charge on 1 July each year, beginning a fresh cycle of community service projects, fundraising activities and local partnerships.
Rotary International, founded in Chicago in 1905 by lawyer Paul Harris, has grown into one of the world’s largest volunteer service organisations with more than 1.2 million members spread across over 200 countries and geographical regions. Its work focuses on areas such as disease prevention, education, maternal and child health, economic development, clean water and peacebuilding. Rotary’s long-running campaign against polio, carried out in partnership with international organisations and governments, remains one of its most recognised global initiatives.
The Ahmedabad gathering was attended by several Past District Governors, Assistant Governors from different zones, presidents of other Rotary clubs and members accompanied by their spouses, underlining the close links that exist among Rotary clubs within the district.

During the ceremony, Immediate Past President Rtn Rachana Dave delivered the vote of thanks, while Rtn Subhojit Sen presented the club’s activity report for Rotary Year 2025-26. The report reviewed the organisation’s projects and service work undertaken during the previous year. Proceedings for the evening were coordinated and compered by Rtn Hetal Doshi.
For the coming year, Rotary Club Aadarsh Ahmedabad has identified a number of areas for community engagement, including the development of Oxygen Parks, public awareness activities linked to traffic signals and civic responsibility, disease prevention programmes, educational support initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening economic opportunities for local communities.
Urban green spaces such as Oxygen Parks have become an increasingly common focus for civic groups and local authorities in Indian cities. Such projects are designed to increase tree cover, improve air quality and create recreational spaces for residents in rapidly expanding urban areas. Ahmedabad, which has seen steady population growth and urban expansion over recent decades, has witnessed growing interest in environmental projects and public awareness campaigns related to sustainability and quality of life.
Road safety and traffic awareness have also become important areas of community engagement for service organisations. According to official transport data, India continues to record one of the highest numbers of road accident fatalities globally, leading many voluntary organisations, educational institutions and civic bodies to run awareness campaigns aimed at improving road discipline and pedestrian safety.
The club’s proposed focus on education and economic empowerment mirrors broader priorities within the Rotary movement. Across India, Rotary clubs frequently support school infrastructure projects, scholarships, vocational training programmes and entrepreneurship initiatives designed to improve opportunities for young people and economically weaker sections of society.
The plans announced by Rotary Club Aadarsh Ahmedabad align with the wider goals set by Rotary International for the year. The international organisation has adopted the message “Create Lasting Impact” for 2026-27, encouraging clubs worldwide to pursue projects that deliver long-term benefits rather than short-term outcomes. Rotary leaders have described the message as a call for sustainable community work and stronger local engagement.
At the district level, District 3055 has adopted the theme “Nirman”, a Hindi word associated with building and creation, reflecting a focus on constructive community development and institution building.
The movement operates through local clubs that identify issues affecting their communities and develop projects suited to local needs. While some initiatives involve international partnerships, many of the most visible activities take place at the neighbourhood level through health camps, educational support, environmental campaigns and civic projects.
With a new leadership team now in place, Rotary Club Aadarsh Ahmedabad enters the 2026-27 year with plans centred on public welfare, environmental improvement and community participation, continuing a tradition of voluntary service that has remained at the heart of the movement for more than a century.
