Swarrnim Bosch MoU Creates Exciting Future for Engineers

Swarrnim Institute of Technology Signs MoU with Bosch Home Comfort India Ltd to Enhance Industry–Academia Collaboration

Swarrnim Institute of Technology, in collaboration with the Training and Placement Cell of Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bosch Home Comfort India Limited (BOSCH). The strategic MoU was signed by the Training and Placement Department of the university with a view to strengthening industry-academia collaboration.

Such partnerships have become more important than ever in India’s education system. Many companies today want graduates who are ready to work from day one. However, studies by industry bodies like NASSCOM and CII have shown that a large number of engineering graduates need practical training before they are job-ready. This is why colleges are now working closely with companies. These partnerships help students understand how real factories and offices work. They also help companies find young talent early. Bosch, a global engineering and technology company, has a strong presence in India and has been active in training students through skill programmes and internships across many states.

As part of the partnership, a batch of 50 diploma engineering students from Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Automobile Engineering streams will be able to pursue their internships from December to May every year, at Bosch. Each student will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 18,000.

This stipend is considered quite good for diploma students. In many parts of India, internship stipends for diploma holders range between Rs 5,000 and Rs 12,000 per month. A stipend of Rs 18,000 not only supports students financially but also shows that the company values their contribution. Internships also help students gain confidence. They learn how machines are used in real production. They understand safety rules. They learn teamwork and discipline. These skills are difficult to learn fully inside a classroom. In sectors like manufacturing and automobile, practical skills are very important. Companies like Bosch operate advanced factories, where students can see modern technology in action.

The agreement was signed by Dr Ranjit Kumar, Principal, SIT, and Ms Anuja Gupta, General Manager – Training & Placement, on behalf of the University, and Mr Rupesh Kotak, General Manager – HR, Bosch Home Comfort India Limited. The MoU was formalised as part of ‘Campus se Career – Swarrnim Job Fair 2026’, which was held at the university campus last week.

Job fairs like these play a key role in helping students find employment. In India, campus placement has become one of the main ways students get their first job. Universities invite companies to meet students and conduct interviews. This saves time and effort for both sides. For companies, it is a chance to select fresh talent. For students, it is a chance to start their career without delay. Events like ‘Campus to Career’ also help students learn how to face interviews. They learn how to present themselves and speak with confidence. This is important because many students feel nervous during their first job interview.

Over and above pursuing internships, students will also be able to get hands-on practical training, live project mentorship and also attend technical sessions and expert talks by Bosch professionals. In addition, both institutions will jointly conduct seminars, conferences, and skill development programmes to help the university build an industry-ready workforce.

Skill development has become a national priority in India. The Government of India has launched many programmes, such as Skill India, to improve the employability of young people. Experts say that practical learning and mentorship are key to building skills. When students work on live projects, they learn how to solve real problems. They also learn how to think and make decisions. Listening to industry experts helps students understand the latest trends. Technology is changing very fast. Companies now use automation, smart systems and energy-efficient solutions. Bosch itself is known for its work in engineering, energy and home comfort systems. Learning from such experts gives students a clear idea of what the future workplace looks like.
