Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, was detained by the NCB on October 3 of last year when a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai was raided.
Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, who received a clean bill of health from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the “drugs-on-cruise” case last year, asked a special court in Mumbai on Wednesday to grant his request for the return of his passport.
As part of his bail requirements, Aryan Khan had presented the court with his passport. He was taken into custody in a prominent narcotics case in October of last year. The investigation agency did not include him as an accused party in its charge sheet, which was submitted in May. Aryan Khan and five other people were exonerated by the NCB for “lack of adequate evidence.”
His lawyers, Amit Desai and Rahul Agarwal of the law firm Desai Desai Carrimjee and Mulla filed an application on his behalf on June 30 before the special court overseeing cases involving the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, requesting the return of his passport and citing the charge sheet that did not include his name.
In response to the actor’s request, the anti-drug organization stated that it has no issues returning his passport. The request from Aryan to have his passport returned was then granted by special court judge V V Patil.
The NCB detained the 24-year-old on October 3 of last year after conducting a raid on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai. Before the Bombay High Court approved his application for release, Aryan Khan had been imprisoned for more than 20 days.
