TTF Ahmedabad 2026 Opens with 900 Global Travel Exhibitors

TTF Ahmedabad 2026 Opens as Gujarat Steps Up Focus on Tourism and Travel Trade

The Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Ahmedabad 2026 opened on Thursday at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, bringing together tourism boards, travel companies, hotels, airlines and travel service providers from India and abroad. The three-day business-to-business event, organised by Fairfest Media, runs from 6 to 8 August and comes as Gujarat marks 2026 as the state’s Year of Tourism.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. In a statement issued on the occasion, he said:

“Held in Gujarat for the past two decades, this fair has played a significant role in strengthening the State’s tourism ecosystem through its B2B travel trade exhibition.

Moreover, it has provided a platform to promote tourist destinations, strengthen business partnerships, and bring together stakeholders from across the tourism sector.

With the State Government declaring 2026 as the Year of Tourism, this fair will also play an important role in showcasing Gujarat’s tourist destinations and tourism opportunities to a wider global audience.”

The opening ceremony was attended by Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat; Satpal Maharaj, Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand; Rohan A. Khaunte, Tourism Minister of Goa; and Kuldeep Arya, IAS, Secretary, Tourism, Government of Gujarat, who were Guests of Honour. Senior tourism officials including Dr Vipin Garg, IAS, Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, and Y. S. Chaudhari, IAS, Joint Managing Director of the corporation, were also present.

TTF is one of India’s oldest travel trade exhibition networks, having started in 1989. It serves as a meeting place for travel businesses, tourism departments and destination marketing organisations across major Indian cities. The Ahmedabad edition has grown into one of the largest events in the series because Gujarat is considered one of India’s strongest domestic and outbound travel markets.

According to the organisers, this year’s Ahmedabad event features more than 900 exhibitors representing 10 countries. Tourism boards, destination management companies, hotels, airlines, travel technology firms, attractions and tour operators are participating during three days of business meetings and networking.

Israel has been named the Featured Country for the exhibition. Other international participants include Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Nepal, the United States, China, Thailand and Bhutan. Their presence reflects the continued interest of overseas destinations in attracting Indian travellers, whose international travel has grown steadily over the past decade as incomes, air connectivity and passport ownership have increased.

Within India, Gujarat Tourism is participating as the Host State. Partner States include Goa, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. West Bengal, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Delhi and Meghalaya are taking part as Feature States, presenting tourism products ranging from heritage sites and wildlife parks to beaches, adventure tourism and cultural festivals.

The exhibition floor also includes private travel and hospitality companies such as Holiday Mechanic, The Travel Nexus, Travelplug, Evoke Experiences, Radisson Hotel Group, Sayaji Hotels, Sarovar Hotels, ZANA Luxury Escapes, Maitri Visa and Travel Services, Treat Hotels and Resorts, Booking Junction, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Shankus Waterpark and Resort, Bariza Holidays, Infozeal, UTEN, Travel India and Yorker Holidays Services.

Industry associations are also supporting the event. These include the Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI), Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), Enterprising Travel Agents Association (ETAA), Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and several regional travel trade organisations. Such associations play an important role by connecting travel businesses, promoting industry standards and helping members respond to changing travel trends.

Fairfest Media Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Sanjiv Agarwal said Gujarat’s economy, growing disposable incomes and strong travel demand have made Ahmedabad an important market for the travel industry.

“A strong economy, rising disposable incomes and an exceptionally travel-active population make Gujarat one of India’s leading travel source markets.

That is why TTF Ahmedabad has grown into the largest show in the TTF series, drawing more exhibitors than any other TTF we organise. For destinations, tourism boards and travel brands, it offers the most concentrated and efficient access to Western India’s travel trade ahead of the festive and winter travel season.”

Industry data supports the growing importance of Western India in tourism. Fairfest Media says TTF Ahmedabad is expected to attract more than 15,000 trade visitors from across India and over 30 countries, making it one of the company’s biggest business events of the year.

Ahmedabad’s position as a travel hub has strengthened with improvements in aviation and business infrastructure. According to figures released in connection with the event, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport handled more than 1.38 crore passengers during the 2025 to 2026 financial year. This included 1.14 crore domestic travellers and around 24 lakh international passengers, showing continued growth in both business and leisure travel.

The timing of the exhibition is also important for the travel industry. It is being held before India’s festive season and winter holidays, when travel bookings usually rise sharply. Travel companies often use such business exhibitions to introduce new destinations, negotiate partnerships, launch travel packages and meet tour operators who influence consumer bookings.

Tourism has become an increasingly important contributor to India’s economy, supporting employment in hospitality, transport, aviation, retail and local businesses. State tourism boards are also using events such as TTF to attract investment, encourage regional travel and promote lesser-known destinations alongside established tourist centres.

As Gujarat pushes its Year of Tourism campaign during 2026, the organisers and participating tourism bodies will be looking to convert business discussions at TTF Ahmedabad into new partnerships and higher visitor numbers over the coming months.
