In the fiscal year 2023-2024, AAHL facilitated a total of 10,13,115 metric tonnes of cargo. This is a notable increase from the previous year’s 9,44,912 metric tonnes, reflecting a solid 7% year-on-year growth. This achievement underscores AAHL’s commitment to operational excellence and its ability to manage large-scale cargo operations efficiently.
Dominance in International Cargo
A significant portion of AAHL’s cargo operations in FY 2023-2024 was international, with 65% of the total cargo being managed coming from international sources. The international cargo tonnage amounted to 6,62,258 metric tonnes, a 9% increase from the previous year’s 6,06,348 metric tonnes. This growth showcases AAHL’s efficiency in managing global operations while maintaining a strong domestic presence.
Diverse Range of Commodities
The cargo operations were driven by various commodities, including automobiles, pharmaceuticals, perishables, electricals/electronics, and engineering goods. These commodities were efficiently handled across several airports, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, Mangaluru International Airport, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, and Jaipur International Airport.
Key International Destinations
AAHL’s major international cargo destinations included Germany, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. These destinations highlight the global reach of AAHL’s cargo operations and its ability to facilitate international trade efficiently.
Domestic Success Stories
Domestically, AAHL has also achieved significant success. Leading domestic destinations include Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, which are major hubs for cargo operations within India. These cities play a crucial role in the domestic supply chain and help facilitate the movement of goods across the country.

New Freight Operators
The addition of new freight operators has been a significant factor in AAHL’s success. New operators include Challenge Group, CMA CGM Air Cargo, Air Pace, Kenya Airways, Indigo, and Uganda Airlines. These new partnerships have helped AAHL expand its cargo handling capabilities and improve service offerings.
Digitization Efforts
In a major step towards digitization, the SACT at Mumbai implemented 100% virtual account usage by trade partners. This initiative has streamlined domestic cargo operations and enhanced efficiency. Notable Achievements at Ahmedabad and Lucknow Airports
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad successfully handled Indigo’s first A320 neo freighter on 18 May 2024. This event marked a significant milestone for the airport and highlighted its capability to handle advanced cargo aircraft. Additionally, international cargo operations at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow achieved their highest-ever volume of 700 tonnes in March 2024.
