The latest Oculus software update for the Quest 2 headset is rolling out in an attempt to make multitasking in virtual reality easier. The Quest v37 update brings a number of new features to the virtual reality headset, the most notable of which is support for the Apple Magic Keyboard. The update now includes the option to resize tabs in tablet and desktop modes, making multitasking in virtual reality easier.
“The Quest v37 update is coming shortly, and it includes the option to resize tabs in tablet and desktop modes, making multitasking in virtual reality easier. You’ll be able to access your ideal work setting from anywhere in the future with devices like Quest, and improvements like these are a step in that direction.” Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, made the announcement.
Link-sharing from your phone to your headset, as well as a more adjustable browser window, are among the additional changes included in the upgrade.
“Thanks to some experimental Bluetooth-enabled keyboard tracking tech, we were able to not only use but also see Logitech’s K830 keyboard in VR back in v28. We’re thrilled to announce that Apple’s Magic Keyboard has been added to our list of compatible devices. When you connect your Apple Magic Keyboard to your Quest 2, you’ll be able to see a 3D version of the keyboard and your hands in your home “Late on Wednesday, the firm announced it on its Oculus blog.
“If you’ve taken to working in Quest 2, or simply want to plan some multiplayer Beat Saber with your buddies, it’s a big assistance.”
Anyone with an Android device can use the Oculus Mobile App to share links from their phone to the headset with the v37 release. They must ensure that the headset is turned on and that the phone’s Bluetooth is enabled. Then, on your phone, browse a webpage, click Share, select the Oculus App Open Now, select your headset, and it will open in Browser when you put it on.
