CA Exam Results: Ahmedabad Students Dominate Nationally
Newz Daddy Educational Updates
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the results of the CA Final, CA Intermediate, and CA Foundation exams held in September 2025. ICAI Central Council Member CA Purushottam Khandelwal shared that the overall result for the CA Final (both groups) across India is 16.23%, which was 18.75% in May 2025.
Group 1 result: 24.66% (was 22.38% in May 2025)
Group 2 result: 25.26% (was 26.43% in May 2025)
Historically, the CA Final pass rates have been quite low. For example, in the May 2025 session, the pass rate for both groups was only 18.75% A total of 16,800 students appeared for both groups, and 2,727 passed the exam. The huge number of students appearing shows how popular the CA qualification is, yet the low pass rate shows how tough the exam is. Talking about the CA Intermediate exam, he said the overall result for both groups is 10.06%, compared to 13.22% in May 2025.
Group 1 result: 9.43% (was 14.67%)
Group 2 result: 27.14% (was 21.51%)
The large gap between Group 2 and Group 1 pass rates suggests some variation in difficulty between the groups and/or candidate preparation. It is known that pass rates in CA Intermediate are also usually in the low double digits, meaning many students take multiple attempts. For the CA Foundation course, the all-India result is 14.78%, slightly lower than 15.09% in May 2025. Again, this shows that the Foundation level, which is the first step of the CA journey, also maintains tough standards and relatively low success rates.
Ahmedabad Centre Results
ICAI Ahmedabad Branch Chairman CA Nirav Agrawal shared that for the CA Final exam held in September 2025, the overall result is 23.18%.
Group 1 result: 23.44%
Group 2 result: 27.20%
The Ahmedabad centre results significantly exceed the national average (16.23%), reflecting stronger performance locally. In comparison, the May 2025 results for the Ahmedabad centre were 19.35%, 23.28%, and 20.10% for both groups, Group 1 and Group 2, respectively.
The improvement at this centre may reflect improved local coaching, better student preparation, or better exam conditions. From the Ahmedabad Centre, Sumit Hasrajani secured the 10th rank, and Isha Arora got the 20th rank in India. Having students from a centre ranking nationally high indicates that the local hub is strong in terms of the exam preparation ecosystem.
For the CA Intermediate course in Ahmedabad:
Both groups: 12.35%
Group 1: 9.58%
Group 2: 37.53%
The Group 2 result is much higher than Group 1 here, suggesting different dynamics locally — perhaps stronger students in Group 2 or easier subject area coverage. In May 2025, these were 10.62%, 13.99%, and 33.18% respectively. The improvement from May to September in the centre shows a positive trend, especially in Group 2.
Kriti Sharma from Ahmedabad achieved the All India 2nd rank, and Khusvant Kumar got the 18th rank.
Such high ranks add prestige to the centre and may motivate future aspirants. For the CA Foundation exam, the Ahmedabad Centre result in September 2025 is 18.90%, higher than 13% in May 2025. This jump suggests a strong local improvement in preparation or exam readiness for the first stage of CA, despite the national average being lower (14.78%).
