No World Cup Victory Parade Yet!
BCCI Confirms Heartbreaking Delay For The World Cup Victory Public Event.
The Indian team that won the Women’s World Cup will not have a victory parade. However, BCCI Explains Why, even after India won its first Women’s ODI World Cup, the BCCI declared that there won’t be any celebrations right away.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet scheduled a victory parade, despite the Indian women’s squad led by Harmanpreet Kaur’s incredible accomplishment. India won the Women’s ODI World Cup for the first time on Sunday after defeating South Africa in the final. The Indian board has not planned a felicitation celebration or an open bus procession for Harmanpreet Kaur & Co., despite the importance of the accomplishment. This was verified by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, who implied that the board currently had other issues to deal with.
Celebrations are anticipated to be planned only after senior officials return from the ICC meetings in Dubai, which are scheduled for November 4–7, according to an IANS report. Consequently, the Indian women’s team won’t be able to celebrate their World Cup victory with supporters for at least a week.
Speaking to IANS from the Mumbai airport, Saikia said, “Nothing like a victory parade is planned as of now.” “I’m heading to the ICC meeting in Dubai. We will make plans after we go back because a number of authorities are also travelling there.”
The Asia Cup Trophy will be discussed during the ICC meeting.
We all know that Pakistan’s PCB chairman and the chairman of AICC, Mohsin Naqvi, have stolen the Asia Cup Trophy and is not willing to give it to India, and hence, BCCI and AICC are going to meet very shortly to resolve this problem.
The BCCI secretary, Mr. Saikia, went on to say that in order to get the Asia Cup trophy returned, the board would bring up the matter with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
“We will take up the Asia Cup trophy matter with the ICC and hopefully get our trophy back with the respect and honour it deserves,” he stated.
Shortly after the Suryakumar Yadav-led squad defeated Salman Agha & Co. by five wickets at Dubai International Stadium on September 28, Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and interior minister of Pakistan, presented India with the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup trophy.
Previous cross-border tensions between the two sides, which resulted in chaotic situations, led to the decision to reject the trophy from Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Without a tangible trophy or player winners’ medals, India celebrated winning the championship.
To settle the dispute over the trophy and winners’ medals, the BCCI formally wrote to the ACC; however, the issue has not yet been settled.
