On January 22, young artists from 12 schools from the region gathered in Gandhinagar, and the air was filled with vivid colours and creative brushstrokes. In honour of the Indian Coast Guard’s 49th Raising Day, which falls on February 1st, they were taking part in a unique drawing and painting competition.
Constantly aware of its responsibility to protect India’s maritime interests, the Coast Guard is more than just ships and planes. They are aware of how critical it is to develop young brains and a feeling of environmental responsibility. That belief was demonstrated by this tournament.
A variety of interesting topics were presented to the young participants to consider. Some reflected on the delicate oceanic balance and urged us to be aware of how we affect this essential resource.
