Harsh Sanghavi Presents Gandhinagar BJP Five-Year Roadmap

BJP Releases Sankalp Patra for Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation Election in the Presence of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi

The Gujarat BJP Media Department said in a press release that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sankalp Patra for the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation election was announced at a press conference in Gandhinagar in the special presence of Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

State General Secretary Ajaybhai Brahmbhatt, State Secretary Niravbhai Amin, city president Ashishbhai Dave, MP Rajeshbhai Shukla, State Chief Spokesperson Dr Anilbhai Patel, Gandhinagar North MLA Ritaben Patel and Mayor Miraben Patel, among other leaders, were present at the press conference.

Addressing the press conference, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said that the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation election is being held at a time when the country’s popular Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 25 years of public service and dedication, from his time as Gujarat Chief Minister to his role as Prime Minister of India, and has entered his 26th year.

Along with this development journey, Gandhinagar has also reached new levels of development in recent years. With the support of the elected representatives of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, the entire Municipal Corporation team and citizens, many public works have been carried out during the last five years.

These include a drainage network, new drinking water lines, new roads, health facilities, gardens, lakes, making government schools smart, Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro connectivity, the Sabarmati-Gandhinagar Riverfront and local bus services in different parts of Gandhinagar.

He said Gandhinagar is now not only the city of the Secretariat. It is also becoming an important centre for major national and international conferences, universities, fintech and global companies. New opportunities for industry, business and jobs are being created in Gandhinagar.

Important plans are also being made to develop Gandhinagar as a sports hub and sports capital in the coming years. To take this development journey forward at a faster pace, the Bharatiya Janata Party has presented a clear vision and result-focused roadmap for the next five years.

Mr Sanghavi said the BJP’s Sankalp Patra promises to make Gandhinagar more developed, smart, clean, beautiful, green, cultural, sports-focused and inclusive over the next five years.

The BJP has promised to make every road easier to use, every journey safer and every area part of the city’s development.

The city’s roads will be developed as a symbol of its modern identity. AI-based traffic signals will be introduced. Ch-Road will be developed as an iconic road. Road Numbers 2 and 3 and the road from Gh-7 to Pethapur will be developed as smart roads. Approach roads in different sectors will also be modernised.

The city’s roads will be changed into CC roads in phases. Planning for an overbridge from Kh-2 to Vavol will be taken forward, while the work on the overbridge from K-7 towards Randheja will be completed.

He said theme-based urban designs would be developed so that every sector of Gandhinagar gets its own identity. Special and attractive entry gates will be created for each sector. Modern footpaths and uniform and attractive beautification of main roads and public places will also be carried out.

Plans have been made to develop Gandhinagar as a centre for AI, robotics, digital education and the knowledge economy. AI labs will be developed in schools run by the Municipal Corporation. Smart classrooms, digital learning, STEM and robotics-based education will also be promoted.

The development of smart schools under the Gyankunj Project will be expanded further. A robotics-based sports facility will also be developed. Data centre development will be promoted to make Gandhinagar a strong centre for digital infrastructure.

Special attention will be given to education and knowledge so that every child in Gandhinagar gets education, every young person gets an opportunity to move ahead, and every talent gets the right platform.

A modern Namo Library will be developed in the city. Modern study facilities will be provided for students, young people preparing for competitive examinations and people interested in learning.

Libraries and reading facilities will be developed in all villages included in the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation area. Programmes will also be carried out to give young people new opportunities in education, skills and careers.

To move Gandhinagar towards becoming a Sports Capital, national and international-level sports facilities will be developed over the next five years.

Separate gyms for women’s health, modern sports complexes, a cricket stadium at Randheja, a sports complex at Pethapur and a Robotics-Based Sports Facility will be developed.

Young people will get modern training and practice facilities for different sports. Local talent will get a platform to move forward at national and international levels.

The BJP has also promised to make Gandhinagar not only an administrative capital, but also a capital of art, culture and creativity.

A modern City Centre, Performing Arts Facility and Town Hall will be developed. Meena Bazaar will be redeveloped and modernised. The Gh-5 Open Air Theatre will also be made better and more attractive.

Better public places will be provided for public cultural programmes, folk art and social activities.

Plans have been made to give Gandhinagar’s historical and cultural heritage a new identity and develop it as a tourist destination.

A double-decker AC bus service based on the theme of ‘Gandhinagar City Darshan’ will be planned. Important historical and cultural places and development projects in the city will be connected with tourism.

Ambapur Stepwell will be developed under a heritage site development project. A Wonder Park will also be developed based on the idea of ‘Waste to Best’.

Gandhinagar’s greenery is one of its biggest identities, and the BJP has promised to strengthen it further.

Sector-1 Lake will be redeveloped with a walkway, landscaping, seating and entertainment facilities for citizens.

Tree plantation and landscaping will be carried out. Theme-based planting will be done along main roads and in sectors. Public places and entry points will also be beautified.

The development of villages included in the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation has also been given the same importance as the development of the city.

Areas such as Gokulpura, Fatehpura, Adivada and Kubernagar will get better roads, street lights, drainage, water supply, public facilities and other basic infrastructure. Planned urban development facilities will also be improved.

A rural chowk will be developed according to the needs of rural areas. A labour chowk will also be built to provide better facilities for workers and support organised employment activities.

A community hall will be developed in Randheja. Better transport and infrastructure facilities will also be developed to connect Randheja and nearby areas with the city.

For economically weaker and needy families, proper implementation of the PM Awas Yojana will provide permanent and well-equipped homes.

Administrative services will be decentralised so that citizens do not have to travel long distances to solve their problems.

Municipal Corporation zonal offices will be developed. This will make citizen complaints, certificates and other services easier to access at the local level.

The maximum possible use will be made of funds received from the Central and State Governments for modern urban development in Gandhinagar. Large and future-focused urban infrastructure projects will be given priority.

To make Gandhinagar clean, healthy and safe, physiotherapy centres will be developed with public participation.

Mobile food testing vans will be provided so that there is no compromise with citizens’ health.

Bio-mining will be used for solid waste disposal, making waste management stronger.

A modern animal hospital will be developed for animals. Better facilities will be created to treat stray and sick animals.

Proper arrangements will also be made for the respectful and scientific disposal of animal bodies.

The next five years will not be limited to building new roads and buildings. They will focus on preparing Gandhinagar for the next generation.

The BJP has promised to bring together smart roads, AI labs, smart schools, robotics, data centres, modern sports infrastructure, performing arts, digital libraries, heritage tourism, green urban development, modern public transport and strong rural-urban connectivity.

Through these initiatives, the Bharatiya Janata Party has promised to make Gandhinagar a future-ready, technology-based and people-centred city.

On this occasion, city BJP president Ashishbhai Dave also addressed the gathering. He expressed the party’s commitment to the overall development of the capital city with a focus on public service and public facilities.
