Hi Life Exhibition Brings Navratri Fashion to Ahmedabad

Hi Life Exhibition Brings Over 100 Designers Together on 13 and 14 October at Le Méridien Hotel, Ramdev Nagar, Ahmedabad

A two-day Hi Life Exhibition is being held on 13 and 14 October at Le Méridien Hotel in Ramdev Nagar, Ahmedabad, with more than 100 designers presenting clothing and fashion collections for Navratri across over 35 stalls.

The exhibition is open to visitors from 10 am to 8 pm on both days. It brings together designers offering a range of outfits for people preparing for the festival, when traditional clothing and colourful styles play an important part in celebrations across Gujarat.

Navratri is one of Gujarat’s major festivals. People gather for garba and dandiya raas, often wearing traditional chaniya cholis, kediyus, embroidered jackets and other festive clothes. Demand for such outfits creates opportunities for designers, clothing makers and sellers to reach customers before and during the festival season.

The event reflects the link between traditional Gujarati clothing and changing fashion choices. While many shoppers continue to choose outfits with mirror work, embroidery and bright colours, modern designs also offer different cuts, fabrics and ways to wear traditional garments. The exhibition gives visitors an opportunity to view collections from several designers in one place.

Traditional Clothing Meets Modern Design

The chaniya choli remains a popular choice for women during Navratri. It usually includes a flared skirt, a fitted blouse and a dupatta. Designers often use colourful threadwork, decorative borders and small mirrors to create festive designs. Men commonly wear kediyus, embroidered kurtas and other traditional outfits for garba.

The Gujarat Government’s Garvi Gurjari initiative has also described Bandhani, embroidery and mirror work as important parts of the state’s textile traditions. These designs reflect the region’s long connection with hand-made fabrics and decorative clothing.

Designers now have several ways to bring these traditional styles to new customers. Some retain familiar patterns, while others combine traditional details with modern shapes. The choice of fabric, the weight of the outfit and the ease of movement can also matter to people who plan to dance for several hours.

The Hi Life Exhibition brings together more than 100 designers through 35-plus stalls. This format allows shoppers to compare different designs and consider several options before making a purchase. However, the event details do not specify the full range of products, their prices or the number of participating brands.

Navratri Creates Demand For Festive Fashion

Navratri has a strong place in Gujarat’s cultural and social life. The nine-night festival brings people together for prayer, music and garba. In Ahmedabad, celebrations take place at public grounds, organised venues and community spaces.

The festival also creates a seasonal market for clothing, jewellery and accessories. Shoppers often look for outfits that suit the occasion, while designers and retailers prepare collections to meet demand during this period.

The growth of organised garba events has added to the range of fashion choices available to visitors. Traditional garments remain central to the festival, while contemporary styles give shoppers more options. Fashion exhibitions form one part of this wider market, allowing designers to meet customers in person.

For buyers, price, fabric quality, comfort and fit are important points to consider. Clothing used for dancing should allow free movement and feel comfortable over long periods. Customers may also wish to check the fabric, stitching and care instructions before buying an outfit.

The exhibition’s organisers have not provided details of the price range or any special offers. Visitors will therefore need to check these details directly with the stalls before making a purchase.

Mr Patrick shared information about the exhibition with members of the media. The event also included a special recognition programme for Meghna Oza, Archana Soni and Rakhi Shah.

Members of Samyak Women’s Club were also honoured, along with Rakhi Jain of Wonder Women’s Club. The available event information does not specify the individual reasons for the honours or the roles played by the named guests in the exhibition.

The participation of members of women’s clubs adds a community element to the event. Such gatherings can provide opportunities for people to meet, exchange ideas and take part in local social activities. However, no further details were provided about the clubs’ involvement beyond the recognition programme.

Visitor Information

The exhibition is taking place at Le Méridien Hotel in Ramdev Nagar, Ahmedabad, on Tuesday, 13 October, and Wednesday, 14 October 2026. It is scheduled to remain open from 10 am to 8 pm on both days.

With more than 100 designers represented across over 35 stalls, the event offers shoppers a single venue in which to view festive clothing collections ahead of and during Navratri. Visitors can explore the available designs and speak directly with sellers about garments and other products on display.

The exhibition runs during one of Gujarat’s busiest festive periods, when traditional dress remains an important part of public celebrations. Its two-day programme gives Ahmedabad residents an additional place to look for Navratri clothing while bringing designers and shoppers together under one roof.
