Orenda Financial Marks 9 Years With ₹1,000 Crore Milestone

Orenda Financial Served 10,000+ Borrowers Through A Network of 50+ Lenders

Orenda Financial Services has completed nine years of operations after facilitating more than ₹1,000 crore in loan disbursements for over 10,000 businesses and individuals. The company, which began in Rajkot in 2017, is entering its tenth year with a greater focus on technology, digital lending and its network of banking and NBFC partners.

Orenda currently works with more than 50 banking and NBFC partners and over 450 channel partners. Its lending portfolio includes business loans, mortgage loans, personal loans, home loans and loans against property.

The company marked the anniversary on August 24, 2026, by announcing several technology and business initiatives. These include an in-house customer relationship management system and lending platform, a Bank Statement Analysis tool, a new brand identity and a new website that is being introduced in beta.

From Rajkot To A Wider Lending Network

Orenda was founded in Rajkot in 2017 and has built its business around connecting borrowers with banks and NBFCs. Its role is different from that of a traditional bank because it works across a network of lenders and channel partners to help customers find suitable credit options.

The company’s early focus was on using technology to reduce paperwork and improve the way loan proposals are assessed. Its stated technology plans have included tools such as document processing, bank statement evaluation and credit information checks.

The wider lending market has also moved towards greater use of digital systems. The Reserve Bank of India has introduced rules for digital lending that cover areas such as borrower disclosures, data collection, loan servicing and the role of lending service providers. The rules require regulated lenders to give borrowers a Key Fact Statement showing the annualised cost of a digital loan before the loan agreement is signed.

For companies working around digital credit, technology therefore has to improve speed without weakening transparency or borrower protection.

New Technology Systems Take Centre Stage

For its ninth anniversary, Orenda has introduced an in-house CRM and lending platform. The system is intended to manage the loan process from application through to disbursement and improve coordination between the company, its employees and channel partners.

The company has also developed a proprietary Bank Statement Analysis tool. Bank statements are an important part of many lending assessments because they can provide information about income, cash flow and financial activity.

Orenda’s technology plans come at a time when India’s financial sector is using more digital data to assess credit applications. The RBI’s Unified Lending Interface, or ULI, was designed to connect lenders and data service providers through standardised technology links. By March 31, 2025, the platform had 44 lenders using more than 60 data services across 12 loan journeys, including MSME lending.

The development is relevant to small businesses, which can often face difficulties in presenting financial information in a form lenders can assess quickly. The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has also published a guide aimed at helping MSME borrowers understand lending rules, procedures and their rights.

Focus on MSMEs And Retail Borrowers

Orenda says its lending activity covers both businesses and individual customers. Its MSME focus places the company in a large credit market where access to formal finance remains an important issue for smaller enterprises.

Government-backed credit programmes have also been designed to improve lending to smaller businesses. Under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises, eligible lenders can provide collateral-free credit supported by a guarantee mechanism. The scheme aims to strengthen the flow of credit to the MSE sector.

The government increased the credit guarantee cover for micro and small enterprises from ₹5 crore to ₹10 crore in the 2025-26 Budget, with the government saying the change could support additional credit of ₹1.5 lakh crore over five years.

Against this backdrop, lending platforms that can process financial information efficiently may have a role in helping borrowers and lenders manage applications. The actual loan decision, however, remains with the regulated lender.

Orenda Holdings Association

Another development announced by Orenda is its association with Orenda Holdings as an equity partner. The company said the relationship will be used to explore opportunities in Gujarat’s affordable housing sector.

Orenda Holdings describes itself as an Ahmedabad-based group with interests that include finance, real estate, legal services, digital businesses and other ventures. Its wider activities give the new association a connection to areas beyond lending.

The affordable housing segment is closely linked to the availability of housing finance and property-backed credit. Orenda’s existing products include home loans, mortgage loans and loans against property, making housing finance one of the areas covered by its lending network.

Leadership Looks To The Next ₹1,000 Crore

Harsh Bhojani, Founder and Managing Director of Orenda Financial Services, said the business started with a small office in Rajkot and has taken nine years to reach the ₹1,000-crore disbursement mark.

“Nine years ago, Orenda was a small office in Rajkot. Today, with the support of our partners, we are creating and deploying tools that bring greater efficiency and capability to the lending ecosystem. It took us nine years to reach our first ₹1,000 crore in disbursements. We believe the journey towards the next ₹1,000 crore will take significantly less time.”

Sanket Parekh, Chief Business Officer and Executive Director, said the company plans to put greater emphasis on digital lending, shorter turnaround times and wider access to credit.

The anniversary celebrations also recognised Orenda’s first employee, who has remained with the organisation since its beginning.

As Orenda enters its tenth year, its stated priorities are further investment in technology, lending processes, partner support and new products. The company also plans to expand its presence across Gujarat and into other markets.

The ₹1,000-crore figure marks the scale reached since 2017. The next phase will depend on how effectively Orenda can use its technology, lender relationships and customer network while meeting the standards that increasingly govern digital lending in India.
