The New Mahindra Scorpio-N

On June 27, 2022, the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N will make its global debut in India. It will be available with both petrol and diesel engines, as well as manual and automatic gearboxes with 4WD capability.

The new-gen Scorpio, internally codenamed ‘Z101,’ will be publicly known as the Mahindra Scorpio-N, while the current-gen Scorpio will continue to be sold as the Scorpio Classic. Here’s what you can expect from the Mahindra Scorpio-N in 2022.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N is intended to represent a significant improvement over the existing model.

It will grow in size, gain new powertrain options, and add a slew of technological enhancements. The official photos suggest that, like the XUV700, the new Scorpio-N will have an upright silhouette with a powerful six-slat chrome studded grille and Mahindra’s new ‘Twin Peaks’ emblem in between.

The latest photos suggest that the Mahindra Scorpio-N will include LED projector headlamps, foglamps, and C-shaped LED DRLs. It has machined-cut multi-spoke alloy wheels, aggressive cuts and creases in the body lines, and roof rails on the side profile. While the back profile has yet to be revealed, we do know that it will have vertically stacked taillights. For a robust look, the SUV has skid plates in the front and back, as well as body cladding all around.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N is projected to have the same powertrains as the XUV700, albeit with a lower level of tuning. A 2.0-liter mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine will be available. A 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission will be available. It will also have the 4WD capability.

“Scorpio has been a historic model for Mahindra, which has reinvented the category and become an iconic brand in the Indian vehicle sector,” said Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. In India, the All-New Scorpio-N is likely to set new standards in the SUV segment.

We continue to carry forth the Mahindra legacy of developing real, tough yet smart SUVs with an unmissable design, exhilarating performance, and high-end technology.”

“With the All-New Scorpio-N, we continue to live up to our brand promise of ‘Explore the Impossible,'” he continued. The Scorpio-N represents our commitment to bringing world-class SUVs to the Indian market and providing our consumers with a pleasurable ownership experience.” On June 27, the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N will make its global debut in India, with pricing to be announced later.
