‘Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti’ – BAOU Vice Chancellor Dr. Ami Upadhyay Urges Youth to Lead with Heart and Purpose
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) Joins National Pledge Led by AIU: “Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti” Students at BAOU accepted the national promise, which envisioned PM Modi as the defining force of New India following Operation Sindoor.
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University joyfully collaborated to successfully hold the nationwide youth pledge event, “Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti – One Youth, One Nation, One Resolve,” on May 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
This event, which took place concurrently in five different Indian regions, united students in a moment of civic solidarity, patriotism, and pride in their country. Nearly a thousand students gathered at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University to take the National Youth Pledge, motivated by the inclusive vision of Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the principles of Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
By taking part in the “Yuva Shakti, Bharat Ki Shakti” vow, students from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University and other centres spread throughout the state embraced the national moment of togetherness from the western corner of Bharat. This assembly was more than just a formality; it was a sincere affirmation that the young people of the western area share the same resolve as the rest of the country. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University reaffirmed through this collective voice that patriotism transcends national boundaries and that all students, campuses, and regions have an equal stake in creating a cohesive, independent, and inclusive Bharat.
The honourable mayor of Ahmedabad, Smt. Pratibha Jain gave a cultural invocation and speech before the commitment, which was led by Dr. Ami Upadhyay, the university’s vice chancellor.
Dr. Ami Upadhyay, the university’s vice chancellor, stated on this occasion that “We are proud to stand with AIU in shaping our nation’s youth as the conscience-keepers of Bharat.” We are here to represent the entire western region, not only Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University. We are all working together to create a New India under our dear Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. As Gujaratis, we sent two of the lions to the centre, and today, through Operation Sindoor, their roar can be heard all across the world. I implore every young person to make this commitment with all of their heart, not just their words. Being the fourth largest economy in the world today, India has demonstrated that it is not only powerful in maintaining its sovereignty but also strong economically.
“I would like to congratulate Dr. Ami Upadhyay, the vice chancellor of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, and her team for being selected among the five universities across the country,” stated Smt. Pratibha Jain, the honourable mayor of Ahmedabad. 140 crore people are participating in Operation Sindoor with the Indian Armed Forces following the barbaric Pahalgam incident. By 2047, our prime minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has established the framework for Vikasit Bharat. We should all strive for the same goal and depend more on domestic goods.
This gathering echoed the appeal for a Viksit Bharat by 2047 and sent a clear and living message of youth empowerment, inclusivity, and togetherness in diversity.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University reiterates its dedication to producing students who are prepared to serve and guide India ahead, while expressing sincere gratitude to AIU for its vision and leadership.
